Labor Day Weekend

WOW. Out of the blue we became busy.

Friday afternoon my dad called and wanted us to go to a family dinner at Jalapeno's. Since I already had a crock pot dinner, my parents, Gigi and the Horton's came over for a couple hours of fun and dinner at our house. Dance party and performances created by Anna and Kate and mimicked by Ashley wrapped the night up...

Friday night after the girls went to bed and Saturday morning was a HUGE step in getting our house settled.... we hung pictures. Yup- like 20 pictures (maybe more!) I also hung a towel rack and finished installing the toilet paper holders. Mission accomplished! And Rob and I didn't get in one fight with the pictures because I did it all myself.... to think of it he was nowhere close by (on purpose I am sure!)

We finished hanging the pictures and other house chores while the girls did this for 45 minutes. Not kidding... they read books in our bed. It was amazing :)

Then Saturday late afternoon into the evening the Perrigo's came over to play. The rain had finally stopped so our girls and their 3 kids (ages 7,5 and 1) played outside with all our outside toys, played in the basement, had a dance party, played on the deck in all the rain water that collected in the pool and water table, had a pinterest party (all the food was made off of pinterest- fun!) and made "moon sand" to play in. It was pretty awesome having friends over with kids. So much fun!

Yes... that is 100% rain water. Our 6 inch tall pool was overflowing while it rained that morning. We got an amazing and much needed rain!

Then Sunday kept us running with a baptism, baptism brunch and a first birthday party. The baptism was for Jennifer Scott's (a friend from high school) baby at the church right by our house. We then celebrated with a lovely brunch of Jack Stack (yum) and awesome cake! It was very nice hanging out with the Hall's!

We headed home for nap time and unexpectedly all 4 of us got at least a 2 hour nap. We were exhausted and ready for the next party. The girls got dressed in matching outfits per Anna's request and we set off to Laney's first birthday party (the daughter of Ashley, my friend from KU.) I always love a Souders party and seeing her family. We had a lot of fun playing with Cooper, eating good food and playing by the pool.

She is getting so big and mature looking. I can't believe she's almost 3!

WOW, what a weekend! To think we had the next day all together too! Well we really didn't do much today outside the house and ate a ton of leftovers. Rob mowed, installed a fan, did some outside project, while I painted the vanity given to Anna by the neighbor girl. The girls played in the basement, went to the pool for 2 hours (last day of summer pool fun) and then played in the backyard in water some more. And we topped the weekend off with some Orange Julius... yum yum! It was another great pinterest find and they were SO good, even if all of Ashley's spilled on Daddy's leg during the family picture time :)

This is RIGHT when the Orange Julius spilt... notice Rob's orange thigh... Oops!!!

Anna is in her pajamas sitting in the pool. I decided to worry about doing the dished instead of worrying about it :)

Happy Labor Day to all!

Much Love,
Jenny
