KU game

KU football lost to MU... make me vomit. We'll get them next year (and in basketball!)

Enjoy the pictures- unlike the game, they are enjoyable to see! Anna loves watching football on the big screen (and pretty much anything else on TV!) :) She completely broke through her diaper with a ginormous tooter; hence the outfit change!!!

Much Love,
Jenny

Christmas Lights

A couple of days ago, while I was sleeping, mommy put up the Christmas tree and mantle lights. When I woke up, I feel in love with the white lights. I could not stop staring at them and everyday since then I make sure to spend some time just staring at them!!! I NEVER want mommy to take them down- can it be Christmas ALL year long? I love it!!!

Love,
Anna

P.S. Mommy said she will post pictures later once everything is finished so everyone can see how pretty it looks!

Texas Cousins!

I LOVE my Texas cousins!!!

My cousins Tom and Meghan came all the way to Kansas City last week to meet me! And to have some turkey with our family on Thanksgiving. We had so much fun! Tom and Kate ran around the house while Meghan and I were constantly held by everyone and we even got a little tummy time in together. Meghan is so strong and good at tummy time- she holds her head WAY up in the air! I can't wait until I am strong like Meghan!

I get to see my Texas cousins again in a couple of weeks. They are coming up for Christmas for 2 whole weeks. I can't wait! Maybe I'll be able to hold my head up and show off to Meghan :)

Anna

Rock Chalk

"Oh, come on babe, not today!"

"Not what?"

"She can wear that 352 days out of the year but not today."

Then he starts to cry......

She responds, "Ok- she'll wear it when they play each other on a tournament day!"

His crying does not stop.....

This is how my morning started when I was trying to get Anna dressed for the day. Does he not realize that on this day it is especially important to wear KU stuff (both this day and when they play the purple team.) Does he not realize that I have spent 1000's of hours and money at BOTH undergrad and grad at KU? Does he not realize I have spent more time with the Crimson and Blue then with him? Does he not realize he has married a Jayhawk? For all I care, he can dress her in Truman State and Vanderbilt stuff any day of the year!!!!!

So, to make ammends, I pull out red sweatpants and a blue shirt (something I would NEVER dress Anna in because it looks hideous together) and he laughs and says OK.

Oh the border wars!!! We never really argued about them until it came to dressing our daughter. She is going to grow up to be one VERY confused little girl but her heart will always be beating Rock Chalk!!!!

Much Love and Rock Chalk,
Jenny

My First Thanksgiving

Happy Day After Thanksgiving!!!!

I love that day! :) Turkey, green bean casserole, corn casserole, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, stuffing and pies!!!!! I can not wait until I am old enough to stuff my face with all this good stuff!

I had so much fun seeing all the Stilley and Fimmen side (I even got to see Aunt Carolyn's sisters and mom!!!) I love seeing my family and am the most thankful for them. Can't wait to have my third Thanksgiving tomorrow evening with the Riggs side!!!

Mommy and daddy told me Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks and I am most thankful for the following top 10 things:

1. Mommy and Daddy
2. My grama, papa, grammy and poppy
3. My cousins and aunts and uncles
4. mommy's milk
5. white noise
6. diaper changes
7. my swing
8. when people hold me
9. sleep
10. my car seat which lets me travel to see everyone!

I am also thankful for those who care enough about me to read my blog! Thanks!!!!

Anna

BIG girl

I am beginning to outgrow my newborn napper! I feel so snug as a bug in a rug when they swaddle me and then put me in my bed that I don't want to leave it. I wonder when mommy and daddy will realize this and move me to a bigger bed (that bed BETTER vibrate!) Fingers crossed that it isn't anytime soon!

2 months old!

Mommy and daddy can't believe that I am already 2 months old! Here's an update on what life is like for me!

*I love to sleep!!!! I am sleeping through the night. I get anywhere from 7 1/2 - 9 1/2 hours a night.

*I am smiling more- especially right after eating, sleeping or playing! I like to give BIG smiles to daddy and mommy!

*I am cooing and starting to make all sorts of noises while playing with people or my toys.

*When I am laying on my back, I like to kick and flair my arms in the air when excited (especially under my playgym)

*I love running errands with mommy but I don't really like Costco.

*I love to mimick mommy and daddy. I especially like to stick my tongue back at them when they stick theirs out at me. I also like to mimic mommy eating- she eats a lot! I can't wait to eat food like her- especially home made chocolate chip cookies!

*I like going to church mostly because of the music. Mom has only had to take me out of church once because I was fussy.

*I am beginning to play with my hands. I also am beginning to suck on them! They taste really good!

*I like to look at the pictures in all my books when daddy reads them to me.

*I love it when mommy or daddy sing to me to get me to go to sleep.

*I like being patted on the back pretty hard. It gets all my gas and burpies out so I am more comfortable :)

*I still LOVE being swaddled like a big ole burrito!

*I have lost some hair on the top of my head and my hair is getting lighter. Mommy and daddy kept wondering what color it will be and whether or not it will be curly!

*I like to watch objects above my head. I am starting to reach for things above but haven't quite figured out the whole thing. I can follow an object in a complete circle above my head.

*I had my first laugh with mommy and daddy while swinging in my swing with them talking to me saying funny words! People have to work REALLY hard to get me to laugh because I don't do it that often. :)

*I like to look at my swings' mobile and look at myself in the mirror attached to my swing.

*I LOVE my baths in the big girl bath tub with mommy. With mommy's help, I am beginning to kick at the water.

*I am starting to get baby acne. It is on my chest and around/on my ears. Mommy says it's better to have it now then when I am a teenager! Luckily it doesn't bother me one bit!

I can't wait to see what all I learn during my 3rd month! So excited!!!!!!!!

Anna

SHOTS!

I went to my 2 month doctors appointment yesterday and pretty much hated every second of it! From the moment daddy got me out of the car seat and up until I got my shots, and then again after the shots, I cried hysterically! Nothing could calm me down, not even food or a dry diaper!!

They poked my in my thighs 3 times and made me drink some nasty drink out of a hard nipple. I did not like ONE bit of any of it.

I do not want to go back to my 4th month check up but mommy and daddy are making me.

I guess the only good thing about my visit is that I am growing to be a BIG girl with a little bitty peanut head!

Height: 23 1/4 inches (76 %tile)
Weight: 11 pounds 3 ounces (73 %tile)
Head Circumference: 14 3/4 in (25 %tile)

Anna

Fimmen Grandchildren Photo Shoot

Grama, Papa, Kate, Tom, Meghan and I all went to get Christmas pictures taken at a nearby picture place. We were all very excited because Grama had bought the girls matching outfits with matching hats and we couldn't wait to wear them!!!!

Most group pictures we took looked like this because Kate was crying most of the time, Meghan was falling down most of the time and I was looking at Kate's pretty black and white polka dotted dress!!! Tom just wanted to play football :)

But we did get some great ones!!!

Aunt Carolyn kept saying that I looked like Baby Jesus in the basket. I thought she was SO funny!

We had so much fun and even though our mommies, Grama and Papa left the place hot with semi-headaches (some larger than others), I can't wait until next years!!!

Love,
Anna

Happy 2 months old to ME!

Happy 2 months old to me!

Enjoy some pictures that were taken of me today during the Fimmen Grandchildren photo shoot! We had SO much fun :)

The new way to "eat out"

Since Anna was born, we have not gotten the opportunity to eat out that much.

It's not like we were avid eater-outers to begin with, but we did like to go out to eat about every two weeks or so. And in doing so we never really had to plan the time, length or anything about our dining experience. Boy has that changed!!!

So today, after Anna's second cousin Emily's birthday party, we decided to stop at a Thai place on the way home. When we got to the restaurant everything seemed great... until our food delivered. I believe it was right before we took our first bite when the little girl decided that she too was hungry. I bet you can guess who ate first!!!!! (No... not rob!!!)

So we asked for a couple to-go boxes and while Rob paid the check (and ate the small amount of what was on his plate) I headed out to the car to do an emergency feeding in the front passenger seat (oh it's amazing what my wild Saturday nights consist of now a days!!!) Rob joined me a couple minutes later and when he did I told him to run back to the place to get plastic forks because I was too hungry to smell the pad thai while feeding Anna without eating any of it! So when he got back to the car, we all enjoyed our dinner while sitting in the front seat of the car in the dark parking lot eating out of the take out boxes.

Wow, how my life has changed. As Rob was spoon feeding me my pad thai, I was feeding Anna. I noticed through the corner of my eyes that as I was chewing my food, Anna was pretending to chew food too. When I licked my lips, Anna licked her lips. She was mimicking my every move! At that moment, I realized that I wouldn't trade this momment for anything much different (well okay- a free trip to Hawaii I'd take over it!) I love every minute of this; even though I am sure there is rice and Pad Thai noodles all over the passenger seat!

Much Love and happy uninterrupted eating,
Jenny

Santa

This morning mommy took me to a photo studio to meet Santa Claus!!!

It was very exciting because when we got to the studio we saw Aunt Anne, Uncle Todd and Kate who were also there to get Kate's picture taken too!

I was super tired when we got there and slept pretty much the whole time while we were waiting and while Santa held me. I did wake up for a minute to see Santa and all I really saw was long, white hair all over his face! Kate was pretty scared of Santa. She screamed really loud and cried too- check out her Santa pictures on her blog: http://www.kateandhermomanddad.blogspot.com/. Unlike Kate, I was too tired to be scared; notice that I am yawning in one of the pictures below! but I did get to tell him everything that I wanted for Christmas (because that's apparently what you do when you see Santa) and he told me I was beautiful.

I can't wait to see Santa again; maybe on Christmas??? I hear you can see him in the sky flying with his reindeer! How exciting!!!!!

Love,
Anna
