First Day of Dance

One and a half weeks ago Anna had her first dance class of the Fall season. She could not wait to get to dance class and when she saw Ms. Marilyn she nearly lost it with excitement! This time she was in with 4 year old girls and did great! She was challenged and loved every bit of it and was pretty good too! She learned a lot of new skills and was so excited to "teach" me then afterwards. I think dance just might be Anna's favorite thing to do :)

For once she wasn't one of the tallest; she was actually one of the shortest!!! Can you tell she's with older kids?!!?

Day with Henry

Two weeks ago Henry and Uncle Aaron were in town and we decided to spend the day with them. We started the morning at Grammy and Poppy's neighborhood playground and then headed to the Lakewood Beach. We stayed and played there for over 2 hours and had an absolute blast!!!! We enjoyed a picnic at the beach and then headed back for naps to Grammy and Poppy's. Then after naps we played in the ballroom and then Daddy joined us for dinner. It was a great day spent with Henry!

Abby just loves looking up at trees!!!

Anna had a blast with Uncle Aaron throwing her up and down in the water! I think Uncle Aaron got a major upper body workout!

"Snowflakes!" Ashley kept calling the sand snowflakes and LOVED playing in it!

Helping Grammy shuck the corn!

Holding/Sucking hands

Just a couple days ago Abby started holding her hands across her belly and slowly moving her grasped hands up to her mouth to suck on. She has officially found her hands!!!!

She insists

She insists on wearing Anna's clothes (size 3T and 4T) even though she wears a solid 2T. She also insists on wearing Anna's shoes (size 10) when she is a size 7.

And she insists on putting them on ALL by herself which results in this look.
Hilarious! It didn't bother her one bit that it was all tangled because she did it all by herself!!!

And here are some lovely pics that she demanded me to take with my camera! So pretty....

Black River

One morning we headed out to Black River. Black River was just a couple of minutes away so it was nice to be in the car for such a short time since the other places were around 30 minutes away from the Hummingbird House.

After a long hike on pebble rocks to the river from the parking lot, we made it to the river. Barbies in tow, we spent a long time playing with them in the water. We built them houses, helped them swim and even took them for a swim over to the small waterfall which led to a creek to hike in.

And Abby? She slept in the shade most the day but did get into the water and LOVED it!

Two Thumbs up for the river!!!

47 months old

Happy last month until my baby girl is 4!!

Can we tell someone is excited?!?!?

Before taking these pictures I told Anna it was time to take her monthly pic. Her response, "Well that's not fun mommy." But when I mentioned they were the last pictures before she turned 4 she was rearing to go!!!

*Has always slept with her bedroom door shut and with it dark. This past month she started requesting a night light. She had also started visiting up in the night. Since we gave her the night light these night visits have become very rare.
*Has just an amazing memory. She remembers things that happened to her when she was 2.
*Her speech is improving. I can't wait to hear what her teacher Miss Lisa says about it in a week!
*She has always been super good at independent play. This past month the most common words to come out of her mouth are "I want you to play with me mommy." Doesn't she know we had Ashley so she would have a playmate?!?!? Just Kidding :)

She is growing up so fast. I can't believe it how old she is.

Plantar Fasciitis

Lucky me.... I get to sleep in this....

I know you are jealous....

Yup, I have a severe case of plantar fasciitis in my heel and it hurts. Hurts very bad actually. Apparently plantar fasciitis is caused by straining the ligament that supports your arch. Repeated strain can cause tiny tears in the ligament. These can lead to pain and swelling. And I have both pain and swelling.

I am kind of amazed that I have it because it is mostly due to:

  • Your feet rolling inward too much when you walk
  • You having high arches or flat feet.
  • You walk, stand, or run for long periods of time, especially on hard surfaces.
  • You are overweight.
  • You wear shoes that don't fit well or are worn out.
  • You have tight Achilles tendons or calf muscles.
And I have none of those issues. Go figure... the mystery cause!

The doctor prescribed me some anti inflammatory pills, physical therapy exercises and a night cast to wear 8 hours a day. If it does not feel better in 8 weeks I am to go back for a cortisone shot. We will see; so far in the past week it's not feeling much better.

Much Love,
Jenny
