sorry ms jessica

We have been working on different ways for Abby to express her frustration and we recently stpped it up a notch when we found out she had hit her favorite teacher because Abby was mad/frustrated. Apparently she's been balling up at school and also at home.

So first we talked with her about how Ms Jessica must feel after being hit byt Abby. She decided to make her a card and tell her "I'm sorry for hitting you Ms. Jessica. I love you and I care for you." She came up with that apology herself.

Then we started a penny stick at home (although we lost it shortly after making it) but she understand the concept to not need to physically have it. Pretty much she starts the day with 5 pennies on the green side. As the day goes on and if she doesn't express herself in an appropriate manner a penny goes to the red side. If she ends the day with all pennies on green she gets to watch a TV show the next day. We have seen some progress but fingers crossed :)

Neighbor Birthday Party

Like I said earlier.... this is the birthday that will never end!

This past Friday, Anna and the neighbor girls went out for a night on the town to celebrate Anna turning 8. I gave them each $10 and we shopped, saw the movie LEAP at a theatre, ate dinner at the theatre and then had ice cream to top the night off.

the girls thought it was the most super fun night! They love feeling grown up :)

They literally shopped until they dropped!

Anna's Field Trip

Anna's first field trip of the year was to the American Royal. And she said it was AWESOME!!!!!

I wanted to go so badly but only 3 parents were allowed and I didn't get selected :(

But I was lucky and had some friends sending me pictures throughout the day.

Anna got to see tons of animals, horses and even parts of the rodeo (little kids on the horse/goats/etc). She said it was the BEST time!

Sometimes...

.... ice cream is a must when the kids get home from school!

Sleepover Morning

She slept great!

Around 6:30 the first ones started to wake up... everyone was awake within 15 minutes. They slowly woke up, talked and played a bit around the house (and outside) before wanting breakfast and a craft before pick up at 10. They all agreed the sleepover was awesome!
