AHOY

Playing outside in Pajamas = LOVE! "Jakey" had fun in this awesome weather playing in "Bucky" this morning. AHOY!

Kate's basketball game

Today we went to see Kate play in her last basketball game of the season. We loved cheering her on and was impressed by how well she hustled on the court. We just love our big cousin!

GO KATE GO!

PreSchool Friend Play Date

This morning Anna had her good girl friends from Preschool over for a morning playdate. She just loves her preschool girlfriends even though she hasn't seen some in months. These 6 (one was gone today) just have a cool little bond and get along SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO well.....

Dentist

This past week I took all three to see the dentist. Fearful that I would have another Belize vaccination experience unravel or that this trip would be just as bad as our last trip to the dentist (which was bad but not Belize vaccination bad) I bribed my children.

Yes, BRIBED.

I told then they would get a special surprise if they trusted and listened to what the dentist and dental hygnist asked them to do. Well, apparently I have been missing out on the greatest most single effective took as a parent.. BRIBERY!!!!

These girls were rockstars!!!

Ashley, who refused to open her jaw last time we went, not only let them take xrays of her mouth but she volunteered to go first! Then Anna and get this, Abby went. When it was Abby's turn to get xrays she turned to me and said, "Mommy's lap." So I went in with her and she was a champ!

Then we went to a different room for the cleaning. This time Anna went first. After she cleared up her concerns about the tool that sucks the water out of her mouth and came up with a different plan to use disposable cups to rinse and spit instead, she was great! Ashley followed suit. Then when it was Abby's turn I asked her if she wanted to sit on mommy lap and she looked at me and said, "No me big girl. Me sit."

It was amazing.

The when the actual dentist came in all girls cooperated. We only had tears once when Ashley found out that she had a small cavitiy but but even those were minimal and understandable.

The girls left with smiles, got their dentist loot bag and ice cream (I still don't understand why they get ice cream but whatever) and we headed to Target. We get to Target and I tell them they can pick out any toy they want. Anna looks at me and says, "Any toy? Serious??? It's not even our birthday!!!!!!" And then she takes off towards the toy she's been day dreaming about ever since watching Descendents 2 days prior.

So, now I just have to somehow fund a way through Ashley getting her first filling on March 1... Any hints?!?!

X-Ray Sticker!!!!

Teeth Cleaning!

Wjhat big stuff....

Abby picked out her first Barbie at Target- the Dentist Barbie..... "Just like me Mommy."

Anna and Ashley both picked out a Descendents Barbie doll.

Best $50 I ever spent....

Tents!

Here is a close up of the tents I am building and sewing for Kates birthday party. So fun!!!

Anne was over on Presidents Day weekend and helped with most of the construction. It was a fun little project that ending up taking a little more time then we thought but well worth it!

Movie Night with Neighbors

Last night Clare, Carilyn and Lucy came over for a movie night. All wearing their pajamas they had a movie night in the basement complete with Christmas lights and individual tents :)

See my current craft project is making 8 sleepover tents for cousin Kate's upcoming birthday sleepover. So we decided to break them in. And they are so much fun!!!! Pretty sure I will be building one for each of my girls some day soon :)

Tents, Christmas Light, popcorn, Pizza Hut pizza in the pizza box, rice crispy treats, shaved ice all while watching their new favorite movie the Descendents with their favorite neighbors. The girls were in heaven and had an absolute blast!!!!

Rob and I enjoyed the 2 hours together without children upstairs drinking wine and eating pizza. Rob even read his newspaper :)

Last Basketball Game

Tonight was Anna's last basketball game. She had a great season and has learned a lot from where she was 7 games ago.  She couldn't even score a basket when they started the games and has been scoring a lot during warm ups. But she had yet to score during a basketball game.... that is until tonight! Turns out that Grammy, Poppy, Grama and the Horton's just need to come to more games :)

So, YUP!!!! She scored her first basket!!!! Another parent got a video of it so we have that to share soon too.

Needless to say she was through the roof with excitement and I cried. So proud of that little girl. She just happened to be in the right place at the right time and the rebound landed right in her hands (she later said she had no clue how she got the ball but she just did). Then she dribbled a couple of times and with the entire crowd yelling "SHOOT!!!!" she did. And SWISH. Then the crowd cheered!!!!

And then that smile :)

After the game she came running up to all of us saying, "I scored!!! I scored!!!!" as if we didn't notice :) And later while she was watching the video of herself scoring she was beaming. When the video was over she looked up and just said, "Awesome."

While laying in bed Anna was talking about her basket and she told me that apparently when her teammate shot the ball and she was getting ready to rebound she told herself "I can do this." And sure enough right then and there she had a chance to score......

Way to go Banana. So proud of you. You are so much fun to watch even though you like to play with your hair a lot....

It's nice ending the season on a high note; she can't wait to play again next year :)

Picture of Anna on the bench after she had just scored her first basket EVER during a game!!!

This girl was radiating excitement. She was so so so happy to have scored a goal during the game :)

Valentines CHEESE

Abby made this cute little frame at Kaleidoscopes so we thought we'd have some fun with it :)

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Valentine's Day

Our Valentines Day was great.

We started the morning at church. After church we headed to Pinstripes for a yummy brunch. IT may have taken uys 45 minutes to actually finish our first plate since Rob and I were constantly taking kids to the restroom, but after that cleared up we were able to enjoy. When we got home we deivered roses to neighbors and then had family cuddles in mommy and daddy's bed and watched the Descendants. During the movie we took a break to visit with Grammy and Poppy who stopped by to say hi. After the movie we went to visit Kate for an hour and then the evening came to an end with eating a heart pizza and just hanging out by our first fire of the year.

It was a fun fun day with my Valentines :)
