WW Update

3 months in and I have done great on Weight Watchers! I am currently down 20.4 pounds from when I joined and have lost over 10% of my body weight. Eating is going really well- the plan is awesome and makes eating pretty east- except for when I want to devour a bowl of cheese dip or Cheetos or ice cream...... But the plan allows me to have a little of those so I guess it's better then nothing! This past week was my only week where I have gained weight- 4/10 a pound- but I thought it was going to be much worse of a gain considering I ate strawberry shortcake twice, strawberry pie, chinese, mexican, chipolte and ribs. Oh and add in some extra handfuls of doritos and cheetos! But what ya gonna do?!?!

In total, I am a little over 40 pounds down from my heaviest pregnancy weight and feeling great! I just unpacked my non pregnancy clothes from last Spring and it feels so good to be wearing some normal clothes- even though I can't wait to get into my skinny clothes again!

My goal is to lose 25 more pounds on WW so hopefully I will have more weight loss to post 3 months from now! I am looking into joining jazzercise, so we will see how that goes!

Much Love and wish me luck,
Jenny

Great Granddaddy and Great Great Aunt Lou!

Today Grammy, Great Granddaddy Riggs and his sister, Great Great Aunt Mary Lou came over to visit us! We had so much fun hanging out and talking/playing. We spent most of out time together in the basement thought because we were under a tornado warning for about an hour. Luckily, the storm passed with no damage.

It was great seeing you Great Great Aunt Mary Lou and Great Granddaddy!

tummytime expert!

Most of the time I do tummy time, I love it and can do it for a really long time. The only time I really don't last long is right after I eat or if I'm tired. Since I love tummy time so much, I am able to hold my head up very high and even arch my back up using my arms. I love doing tummy time on my play mat with lots of books and blocks around me to look at- I also like it when Anna joins me!

I tend to roll over to my back pretty much every other time I do tummy time so when this happens, I get propped up on the Boppy. Mommy thinks I am going to love crawling since I love tummy time and am already starting to do the beginning of an army crawl!

Austin, TX

We had so much fun visiting Daddy's friend Travis in Austin, Texas this past weekend. Daddy's friends Chirs and Saundra were also there for the weekend. We ate at two really good restaraunts- Ables on the Lake (we think that is what it's called) and Chuy's Mexican- an AWESOME Tex Mex place. We also spent tons of time playing in the pool, eating, playing with the dogs and watching Daddy play water volleyball.

It was Ashley's first time swimming and although she wasn't in the water much, she liked it.

What a great trip! Thanks Travis!

First Bus Ride

When we got back to the Kansas City airport, we got to ride a bus to our car- a BLUE BUS!!!!! It was Ashley's first bus ride (just Anna's second). We both really liked it- especially with mommy and daddy singing "The Wheels on the Bus" to us. Our luggage pretty much filled up the entire luggage rack and a man asked mommy and daddy if we had been on a long trip.... they laughed and said we had just traveled for the weekend!!!!

We can't wait to ride another bus!!!!

First Taxi Ride

We took a taxi to get to the Austin airport and it was our first time ever being in a taxi!

Ashley slept most of the time (shocking) and mommy and I had fun with the camera. It made Daddy nervous to have someone he didn't know driving his girls around, but we made it safely! We had so much fun!!!

First Airplane Ride

Last Friday we got to go on an airplane!

We traveled down to Austin, TX to visit daddy's good buddy Travis from college. We were so excited to fly- there was so much to see!!! Our two favorite things about flying were watching all the buses drive around outside the terminal and we also loved watching all the airplanes taking off into the air.

We left Kansas City at 7:20 Friday night and got to Austin the same time horrible thunderstorms did. We wanted to sit together but couldn't because of the lack of oxygen masks for lap infants. This made the flight a little more difficult because Anna kept calling for Mommy- but at least Anna and Daddy had an empty seat next to them. Up in the air, things went great but instead of landing at 9:20, we circled the airport (it closed down) for over an hour. After landing at 10:30, we got out bags and then waited for our ride. After many tears, screams and mini nervous breakdowns, we all were in bed at 1 am that following morning just to wake up with Anna at 7 am (she doesn't sleep in- she wakes at 7 regardless of bedtime).

Our parents promised us and themselves to never fly again at night with kids........ they had thought Anna might fall asleep on the plane (Ashley was an angel the entire night- even at midnight) and they didn't even consider being delayed.... boy were they wrong! We were great on the plane, it was from 10:30 on that was a living nightmare for us all.....

When we flew home, we flew in the morning and that was also crazy. Ashley had a 5 minute "I'm so tired I don't know what to do" meltdown where mommy thought she was going to lose it (the rest of the time she was an angel). Anna on the other hand kept Daddy busy. From a poopy diaper to kicking the chair in front of her to crying for no reason, we were ready to get home.

We think it will be a while before we fly as a family again!

"I show Momma"

Today at Grandma's when I woke up from my nap mommy was out getting an oil change and I started playing with Grandma. While playing with Grandma I found princess high heeled dress up shoes that I got on all by myself. I even walked a couple of steps in them. I was so proud of what I did, I looked at Grandma and said, "I show Momma." She told me mommy wasn't there and I could show her once she got home. A while later, I heard mommy walk in the front door and I yelled "Momma!!!!" Sure enough, by the time she got to the playroom I was in the shoes again with one big smile. She was pretty proud of me!

Also today, when Kate would scream inside I would say, " No ahhhh Kate." I was trying to tell her not to scream. I even put my hand over her mouth. But sometimes I would forget that we don't scream inside and joined in on the screaming until Grandma or Mommy reminding us of inside voices. Oh we have so much fun!

Mommy's been busy in the Kitchen

I love when we start picking strawberries from our patch, but it gets a little overwhelming with what to do with the cups and cup of strawberries that will go bad in a couple of days. So with a little help from old recipes and allrecipes.com, momma's been a busy girl and daddy has been one happy man :)

First Concoction (last night's dessert): Strawberry glaze pie- DELICIOUS! We ate 3/4 of the pie in one sitting- oops there goes Weight Watchers out the window for this week!!! This used up around 4 cups of berries.
Second Concoction: Strawberry Freezer Jam. YUM!!!!! We shouldn't have to buy any jelly or jam anytime soon :) This used up around 3 cups of berries.
Third Concoction: Strawberry Bread. We had never tried this before and though it's pretty good, it could use more berries in it.... note to self for next year. Used around 3 cups of berries.
Fourth Concoction (and tonight's dessert):Strawberry Shortcake- yummmm! We each had a cup of berries, so we used around 2 cups of berries.
And you can't forget the strawberry spinach salads and bowls of plain strawberries we have been having too! So far, in less then 24 hours we had eaten/baked around 14 cups of strawberries. And not exaggerating we have about 8 more cups in the refrigerator and with the rain that we are getting now, I am sure more strawberries will be waiting for us in the patch tomorrow.

On the agenda for using the berries tomorrow: Strawberry Pretzel Pie, Strawberry Syrup (Breakfast for Dinner!) and possibly more jam- we will see how many we "harvest" tomorrow!

Much Love and I might turn red,
Jenny

First Harvest!

We have strawberries! And I'm talking LOTS of strawberries!

Monday when we got back in town from Austin, TX we went outside to pick our first "harvest." Well.... see for yourself what was waiting for us in the patch....

... not kidding probably 15 cups of strawberries!

Daddy and Anna were VERY busy picking strawberries and mommy went to work in the kitchen! One reason we love Memorial Day week is because we LOVE our strawberries!

Much Love,
Jenny
