Easter Morning

Christmas Time: Sick

Valentine's Day: Sick

Ashley's 2nd birthday party:Sick

Easter..... yup you guessed it..... SICK!

I love holidays, love them. I love going over the top. I love pumping the girls up, singing songs, doing crafts and projects and just embracing the joyous time. But when I am sick, I just want to make it through the day...

So this past Easter week Ashley started off sick Tuesday through Thursday. Anna then continued the streak Friday through Monday. I was sick the entire time. And nothing is worse then being sick while your kids battle sickness coming our of both ends.... yup it was that fun.

So Easter didn't really feel like Easter this year. We missed out on church and without church, Easter Sunday felt like another day.... No uplifting church service.... No cute Easter outfits... not cute family Easter pictures in our Sunday best... but at least we had each other, right?!?!

And at least the Easter bunny was feeling good to bring us some Easter baskets!!!

And leave it to a 3 1/2 year old to call me out.....

After they opened their Easter baskets, Anna grabbed her empty basket and said, "Ok guys lets go find our Easter eggs and Easter eating stuff outside with our baskets! Easter egg hunt!!!"

Ummm...... the Easter bunny thought that a basket would do. He knew that both grandparents were having Easter egg hunts at their house but since we weren't sure if Anna was going to feel good enough to leave the house, we didn't want to tell her about those hunts just in case she didn't go (which she only made one).

I asked Anna why she thinks there are eggs outside and she said "that's what our book says happens on Easter. You take your basket and find the eating eggs and eating stuff."

Well, needless to say, we had out front yard Easter egg hunt and it exceeded her every expectation! and isn't that what it's all about :)

And when I asked Anna what her favorite thing about Easter was, she said "the eating stuff. Definitely the eating stuff. Oh and Jaz... I forgot about that :)"

Much Love,
Jenny
