Orchard Hill Family Apple Orchard

Friday with my mom's group we went out to Orchard Hill Family Apple Orchard, about 30 minutes north (near the Legends) of where we live. It was cold but we had so much fun. First we heard a story about apples, learned how to make them shiny (wipe them on our clothes! Anna loved this part), then we colored Halloween pictures and then took a tractor hayride out to the apple trees. Once there we picked around 10 pounds of the smallest tastiest best apples. They were only picking one type, MacIntosh, but Anna and Ashley LOVED them so it really didn't bother us one bit. We picked for around 15 minutes and the great thing about it was that the trees were so close to the ground that both Anna and Ashley didn't need my help once to pick their bag full. After the picking, we got an apple cider slush and then had a picnic lunch with one of Anna's new friends. We weren't very hungry though; we had eaten SEVERAL apples during the picking!

 Hay Ride
 EXCITED!!!
 EXCITED TOO!

The first of many apples to be eaten while picking!

Please take note of how Ashley is pretty much eating the ENTIRE time!

 HEAVY! 5 pounds each!!!

 Apple cider Slushy- yum yum!
Trying to climb a tree like the big kids... pretty close!

Glad we got out apple picking this year but sad it wasn't with Daddy. We just couldn't find a time. Next year.

And what will we do with the apples? As good as an apple pie or crisp sounds I think we are just going to eat them as they are since the girls eat about 5 each a day!

Much Love,
Jenny
