After gymnastics Saturday we were waiting outside to see Kate (she is in the class after us) and we stumbled upon a roly poly. The girls had never seen a roly poly so we were super excited!!! Daddy helped them pick it up and he walked all over their hands. They kept laughing when he would talk because it tickled them so much. When it was time to leave Anna asked us if we could bring it home to live in our backyard. We couldn't say no, so the roly poly rode home in the minivan on Daddy's shirt. Right when we got home Anna took it in the backyard to play with it and help it find a home. "Mommy, this roly poly really likes our backyard," she kept saying over and over again!
Anna has asked several time about the roly poly; has been scared that the birds are going to eat it, wondering if he has met friends and found a home and wondering if he's happy. Today while Daddy was doing yard work he found two roly poly's. The girls played with them for about 10 minutes and then put them back in the yard. This made Anna's day to find that her friend from yesterday had made a roly poly friend and is still in our yard!
