Daddy's Duoathalan

Sunday morning Daddy did a duoathalan: he ran a 5k, biked 15.5 miles and then ran another 5k. We were so proud of him that we all decided to show up at the finish line. We packed up our folding chairs, made a homemade sign and headed to Heritage Park to cheer Daddy on at the finish line. When he turned the final corner and could see us, he got SO excited. He said it was the neatest way to finish a race; with his girls there cheering him on! Then afterwards we all ate the after snack food or bananas, oranges, yogurts, gatorade, bagels and ice water before heading home for our Mother's Day festivities.

Way to go Daddy! We are so proud of you!

Mommy keeps making fun of Daddy because the night before he predicted (using excel of course) that his time would be 1.813 of an hour..... which is a little over 108 minutes.... which is 1 hour and 48 minutes plus some seconds. Well Daddy finished in an hour and 48 minutes and 33 seconds. Seriously, can you get a better prediction? (Plus he hadn't ran a race like this in 4 years so he had no idea how fast he ran or biked in a race situation)

We are so proud of you Daddy! Anna says she can not wait to start running those races with you :)

Love,
Anna and Ashley

This is Daddy at probably 6:40 AM. He said it himself, "WOW, I look a little TOO excited, don't I?!?!"
Sometime around this point in the race we were at home making....

We got so excited seeing Daddy turn the final corner!
Here's Anna loving every snack at the after race festivities! Ice was her choice here!
