Piney falls and some River Stomping

After naps, on our first day, we went to the Piney Falls overlook and suspension Bridge to scout out a spot for our next morning.
Look closely.... there's Pocahontas blazing the trail!
View from the overlook.
Rickety suspension Bridge. Our third time across it Anna was walking by herself across the entire thing. I am talking like 50 feet ahead of us. No fear!
Finding the perfect place to play.... We had to walk through fallen tree branches and pave our own trail through the woods and creek. Let's just say it wasn't the easiest to get to our spot (no wonder no one else was there!)
We found it! A huge and long creek that eventually led us to the start of the Piney Falls (which we didn't realize until that next afternoon as we were leaving!)
The second day heading back to the creek we found that led to Piney falls.
By this day was was running ahead of us. Made me kind of nervous when she got out of sight but Rob told me to let her go.... and of course she was fine :)
We found "gold!"
Time for a snack! Goldfish, nuts and dried cherries at what we thought was an unidentified waterfall. Little did we know that we were at the start of the Piney Falls and could very easily be seen by people on the overlook!
"Now THIS is the life!"
Anna wanted pictures taken!
She even wanted a family one!! Good idea Anna. Can you believe this was the first picture taken with the timer? Made for an easy picture experience. And the best thing about it wasn't mommy's idea (like always) it was Anna's!
On the walk on the way home Anna wanted another picture of all of us. I LOVE the first one but the exposure was off so it has to be in black and white. As for the one below, not too shabby!

Much Love,
Jenny
