Lunch with Elephants

Yesterday we went to have lunch with the elephants in downtown KC. The circus is in town and today they had an opening day lunch kick off. Mommy almost didn't take us because she had the worst headache EVER and we are battling the worst running noses and hurt teeth (Anna is still getting her two year old molars and we think Ashley will be getting some soon).

It was so cool! We had a picnic lunch (Ashley had a bottle) and watched workers set up the elephants lunch; hay, bread and lots of fruit. They had a bunch of music playing and Anna was entertaining some old ladies sitting near us with some of her dance moves and her lip singing (but right when she noticed them paying attention to her the dancing stopped). By the way she was singing and dancing you would think mommy plays hip hop music at home all the time :)

We watched a cowboy and some clowns and then the coolest thing happened.... the elephants came walking RIGHT down Grand St and headed straight to us! Anna got SO excited and as they got closer, she got closer to mommy. We watched them eat for about 15 minutes and then headed home for our nap.

A very cool way to eat lunch if you ask us! The only bad thing was the chain smoking lady who would stand in the middle of everyone and light up... very rude if you ask us. We don't think mommy (and some other mommies) could have given her any more obvious of a stare down- 5 cigarettes and 15 minutes later she never got the point.
