Asparagus Picking

This morning we all headed to Pendleton's Farm just outside of Eudora Kansas. The girls and I went there last year to pick asparagus and had a blast. This time Daddy was joining us and we decided to pick lettuce and spinach too. It was overcast but a lovely morning, nice and cool, for walking asparagus fields! Anna and Ashley remembered picking from last year so they knew exactly what to do; Abby was an absolute riot. She would get so proud when she would crack the stalk in half; half of the time she'd land on her bottom with the asparagus stalk in her hand. Anna and Ashley LOVED eating them raw; Abby not so much.

I love this new Mother's Day tradition, two years strong :)

Gotta love this farmer- he made it a point to position us in front of the silo for the family picture :)

And then we got home and made this with the fresh picked lettuce. It was amazing.
