Elf on shelf

Our Elf came the day after Thanksgiving. We were so surprised to see him on our front door step; Santa had delivered him when we were downstairs playing after dinner.

When we unwrapped our packaged and noticed our elf was missing, we didn't know what to think. Anna remembered that his name was Otter (from last year) so we walked around the house yelling, Otter? Otter?

And you won't believe it (By the way that is Anna's favorite phrase) but he was sitting right in the middle of the Nativity scene looking down at Baby Jesus. We got super excited and wanted to touch him but since we want him to have his magic power to fly back to Santa each night, we didn't.

Since last week, we have had so much fun finding Otter every morning. When we do, the first thing we want to do it call Daddy at work and tell him where he is. Anna always says, "Daddy's not going to believe this. So funny."

So far he has been in the Nativity, Anna's stocking, on the shelf (hahaha- he is elf on the shelf!), in a bowl of ornaments in the middle of our kitchen table and stuck in a slinky hanging down off the stairs.

We love you Otter and love having you in our house!

Love,
Anna and Ashley
