22 months old

Happy 22 months!

*She is sleeping great. Bedtime is around 7:30/8 depending on the length of her nap. She sleeps until 6:30. When she wakes up between 5:45-6:30 she is brought into my room to sleep with me because I am too tired to listen to her cry. I know I am completely spoiling her but she usually sleeps with me until Anna wakes up (sometimes until 7:30). I will break that new habit soon- I am just too tired in the morning.
*Napping is going fine. It's getting harder to put her down to sleep. She needs to be rocked/swayed for a little bit and recently she wants to be asleep in your arms before putting her down. Another new habit to be broken soon.
*Eating is going good. She loved bacon, eggs and toast in the morning. Breakfast is by far her best meal; loves cereal. She is growing like a weed so I know she's eating enough.
*Her temperment and personality is really coming out and she tests the limits constantly. She responds to us pretty well but this little stubborn one likes to get her way (who can blame her!)
*When she wants to know somethings name, she points to it or the person and says, "his/her name?" she uses his/her properly which amazes me.
*She LOVES books! She is always saying "books" "read" "more" "mommy read" "daddy read." Favorite books are her Elmo music book, any snow white or princess book, other sesame street book, good night I love you and Christmas books (especially Rudolph).
*Her favorite words to use- "no white" "mine" "Ashley" "self." My personal favorite is when she says "alligator" and "awesome." She has an amazing vocabulary.
*She is still the little dare devil. She just jumps into your arms when on ledges, stairs, chair. She has no fear. SHE HAS NO FEAR. And giggles the entire time!
*She refuses to get in group pictures. It's not worth the fight. She will wonder why she wasn't in these pictures when she's older and we will tell her it's because she was a stubborn little girl :) Except in the last week or so, this has changed. Hopefully in time for Christmas pictures!
*She sings the words to:
1. Most of her ABC's
2. The last word on every line to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (Also sings "Up Above the World high" and "like in the sky" line)
3. Anything is Possible (Strawberry Shortcake)
4. Time for your check-up song from doc mcstuffins
*She loves music, singing and dancing.
*She loves tickling u; especially Daddy. And she loves to tackle Daddy.
*Absolutely loves Anna and is super quick to mimic Anna at everything she does. She gets excited to see her sister and loves reading with her. But just like all siblings do, she is a professional at telling on Anna- "ANNA!" "Hair, head, leg, pull, push, eat" whatever it is, she tells us exactly what happened and Anna doesn't fight the accusation because it's always true!
*She is saying 3-4 word phrases to convey an idea. I wouldn't say they are sentences but she is definitely stringing words together. My favorite are: Night Night Mommy, Love you Mommy, Bye Bye Mommy, Help me Mommy, Hold me mommy. (sometimes it's hold you mommy!), Anna timeout mommy, scarey Bumble bounce sink (about Bumble in rudolph) and Choo Choo Tunnel Dark Scary (about the train at the zoo).
*"Self" is the most common word she uses.   Do not try to help her with anything unless she says help. She will throw a complete fit and redo everything (plus more) of what you just helped her do. Trust me it takes less time to just let her do it herself.
* Loves puzzles. Is currently working on 48 piece jigsaw puzzles and she can easily tackle 24 piece jigsaw puzzles. She amazes me with her puzzles.
*When I say "how is my baby girl doing?" or "Ashley, how you doing?" She responds with "good." It is so cute how she says it. so cute.
*Loves to skip, hop and dance. She has quite the collection of dance moves.
*She loves anything to do with Doc McStuffins, Snow White, Minnie Mouse and Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer.
*She's become very social. When people leave she shakes her head no and says "no bye bye!"
*She still loves taking off her pants and diapers.
*She is a professional at saying "thanks" when appropriate.

I love you Ashley!

Much Love,
Jenny
