OP Arboretum

One day last week we woke up in the morning and saw that it was in the upper 60's outside. So we got dressed quickly, packed a breakfast and headed to the Overland Park Arboretum.

I can see this place becoming a favorite of mine in the upcoming years (especially in fall and spring). It is beautiful there, is super child friendly (the child's area is currently in the planning works but they already have bunches of things for the kids to do), great place to take pictures, is not even 10 minutes away and my favorite part of it, FREE!!!! Add this to Deanna Rose and there's no need to pay for things to do in this area.

We ate breakfast by the lake on the rocks in the shade. It was great. When the girls were done they ran around and I just sat and watched. It's so nice having them at the ages they are at; completely content outside with no help.

We stopped to smell the flowers MANY times...
Ashley likes to kiss them instead :)
So much fun!
Purple!

Our favorite place- the walkway through the Monet gardens
The moon was still out and the girls LOVED looking at it during breakfast. Ashley kept saying "moom" and pointing to it and to the one in her book
Breakfast time!

My little Plum Pudding!
Reading Time
Playing Time
We rarely go anywhere these days without the backpack full of 10 strawberry shortcake mini dolls!
And they hammed it up a bit for the camera!!

At the children's train exhibit

In the open air theatre type place.... they LOVED this chairs! Anna kept calling hers her car seat!
So cute!

Being "Gabby" and doing the balance beam

Future Olympic star....
And a little tree climbing!

Not so much for this one....

Plenty of shade for when it got in the 90's....

And we saw some nature......
So much fun and can't wait to frequent this place!

Much Love,
Jenny
