Stroke Camp

Today Anna and Kate went to a swimming stroke camp at Midwest Aquatics. While at Great Wolf Lodge both girls were talking about wanting to practice their strokes more so I thought they'd love doing this one afternoon camp together. The flyer said backstroke, free style, breast stroke and butterfly and the two little ones were excited to do the breast stroke and butterfly the most.

Unfortunately they didn't teach it :( But they got TONS of practice in on free style, back stroke and chicken airplane soldier. I was really hoping for some individual attention in these two strokes as well because they are the ones that Anna is just learning on swim team. But really, it was no big deal. She just got better at her other strokes instead :)

The girls said they had lots of fun but it was too long. Apparently they just swam back and forth (while practicing dives too) for 3 hours. YIKES!!! Sounds miserable to me but Anna seemed to like it. She did ask me if everyday was going to be like this and I told her that it was just one day. Her response, "Phew. It was too long mommy. But fun. I'm hungry- we only had like 10 seconds to have a snack."

So fun to be at the age to do fun camps with cousin Kate!!! Ashley can't wait to join them next year.
