We all walked Abby to her classroom, helped her put her stuff in her cubby and watched her pick out her seat for the day. then we did our goodbye routine (kissing hand, hug and long kiss) and walked out. She was busy coloring and seemed pretty ok that we were leaving. Then we walked by again (after dropping Anna and Ashley off) and saw her looking out the door with her lip quivering..... but she stayed in her seat and managed a small smile at us from a far. Then we walked away in shock that it all went fine. No tears, no temper tantrum, no shit fit. What a big girl. And when I picked her up, Abby's response to the first day of school was "It was awesome! I love Kindergarten!" Smiles EVERY where! (And as I am writing this almost 2 weeks in it has been nothing but smiles).
Anna never stopped smiling knowing she was going to be with Clare ALL day! She loves that her teacher is "calm" and says she has never had a calm teacher before.... She was also upset that she had assign seats at lunch and was apart from Clare- she has only been waiting 4 years to FINALLY sit with her at lunch....
Ashley came home with super smiles; she had fallen in LOVE with her teacher! "Best day ever, best teacher ever and best year ever!"
