Last Swim Meet

I just found these in my draft section from over a month ago...... WOW I was behind!

On the day of their last swim meet we were at Target and were SO excited to find out that at the meet Anna and Kate will be doing the IM again and Ashley will be doing breast stroke for the first time in a meet! Super pumped!!!!

They have had so much fun swimming together. And I can't believe how much they have improved!

Our little breaststroke/heat winner. Couldn't believe how fast this little monkey went. She won her stroke but unfortunately was DQed because of how she kicked right when jumping in the water. She'll get it next year!

The girls had a great last swim meet.

Anna did the strokes to the IM perfect this time but forgot to grab the wall after breast with two hands (she touched with 1). This KILLED mommy because I was right there and didn't shout out two hands like I always do. But she has to learn for herself and I have a feeling she will grab two hands next time! She would have came in second place if she wouldn't have been disqualified. When she got out of the pool she was so excited and proud of herself. I waited until morning to tell her she had been DQed and she handled it pretty well. She said, "Next year mommy I want to do the IM again, I will not get DQed next year mommy. I can't wait to try IM again!!!!!" Handled it with great poise while mommy was still a little sick in my stomach for not reminding her... But life goes on :) That is what great about kids.... they get on with life :)

Free- 22nd out of 23- 45.63
Back- 18th out of  20-55.65
Breast- Heat Winner!!! Was disqualified because she swam free style kick when she jumped in but nailed the stroke! She made it in around 45 sec and won a heat ribbon for finishing first in her heat.
100 Free Relay- 6th out of 6- 3:10.13

Anna

Free-5th place out of 23- 28.35
Butterfly- 3rd place out of 9- 38.12
Medley Relay- Anna swam free style as the anchor. Finished first but were disqualified due to breast or butterfly:(
Individual Medley- she would have placed 2nd with a time around 2 1/2 minutes if she would have grabbed the wall with two hands after breaststroke. Next year!!!!
Free Relay- 1st out of 6- 1:59.92

They can't wait for next year and so badly want to do indoor swim team this school year. I just can't pull the trigger on multiple practices a week for each kid in swimming so we are going to wait until next year. We will do Midwest Aquatics Swim Team Prep again starting Oct/Nov on Sunday nights. They can't wait!!!!
