Crow Wing State Park, Canoeing and Whipple Beach

While in Minnesota, we decided to go to Crow Wing State Park to do some hiking and canoeing. We struck out on the hiking due to the insane number of gnats and mosquitoes along our path. But as for canoeing the Mississippi, we had a blast! We didn't get far up the Mississippi (we were paddling upstream) but we had some fun! And believe it or not, not one canoe tipped. And that was a big accomplishment for our boat since little Miss Abby was quite active :)

After our adventures in the state park we checked out Whipple Beach. Except for the fact that it was super windy, it was a gorgeous beach. Abby loved swimming in the water and the big girls LOVED the playground; especially the monkey bars.

It is here where Ashley made it across the monkey bars for the first time in her life. She was quite ecstatic!!!
