Contract Pending...

About a month ago we received an offer on our house; it was actually ON the day that we had started painting our interior trim (needless to say we only painted the downstairs after we heard about the offer!). We tried to get everything taken care of before we left for Italy; the inspection, appraisal and negotiations but needless to say things lingered a little longer then hoped into our trip. But while we were in Venice we accepted the offer and agreed upon negotiations (a new roof and a leaky pipe fixed) and we can officially say we are under contract! And the people who are buying it are a young couple; we just happened to find their wedding video on youtube and I teared up during their vows.... Anyways....

We are due to close on April 18th and fingers crossed that everything goes well. We pretty much just need their loan to hold up and we are good to go.

We are super excited and trying not to get to stressed about moving. We plan on packing up our house slowly the next month and storing our stuff in storage while we live with my parents until we find our house somewhere in the Blue Valley School District. I can not wait to find "our home." It's something I have always wanted to do and an pretty stoked about it and a little nervous since it's the house we will live in as long as we are in KC. I know it's out there; just waiting for it to come on the market. I just hope it's soon since interest rates are rising.

We have started our house search (I have already looked at maybe 8 in person and 50 online) and today both girls went with me to look at houses. Anna was so cute. If you ask her what she wants in her new house she will tell you the following:

What color is
Anna's room: purple bahney (Purple like Barey)
Ashley's room: onge Riff (Orange like Barney's friend Riff)
Daddy's Room: Hot pink. 2 hot pink. (I don't know why she says the 2 hot pink)
Our house: purple bahney
Our trees outside: purple bahney

Looks like someone wants a purple house! too cute!

While we were looking today, we saw a pretty gross one. Well, Anna agreed. While getting in the car she looks at me and says "me miss my home. dat house doss." (that house gross). It was SO FUNNY!

Needless to say I am very happy knowing that we are one step closer to settling down for good in our forever home :) It just might take a lot of patience on our part waiting for it to appear these next couple of months. Fingers crossed!

Much Love,
Jenny

PS we had our house on the market 6 months, off for 3 and then back on and we got the offer around 10 months after putting it back on the market.... so it will have been on the market a cumulative 18 months when we close in April. What a relief!
