After we got off the train at Chicago Union Station, we caught a bus to our hotel.
Checked into our room and visited the hospitality room for snacks!
And then went on a city walk to dinner at The Billy Goat Tavern (made famous by a 1980's SNL skit)
As we walked we checked out the lighthouse exhibit on Michigan Avenue...
And found one (bottom left) that was made by someone from Overland Park KS!
Then we walked back to our hotel on the River Walk, checked out the overly crowded and hot hotel swimming pool, and ended the night with a hotel sleepover!
It was a great first night that welcomed us with Navy Pier Fireworks viewable from our hotel room!
