RMNP- Hiking Wild Basin Area

Our first day of hiking was spent hiking in the Wild Basin area of RMNP.

The girls did great! Hiking around 4.5 miles up/down a mountain (ok Abby was on my back the entire time) was rather impressive!

We hiked to Copeland Falls and enjoyed the beautiful waterfalls.

Then we continued our hike up, up and up to the Calypso Cascades which were rather impressive.

During the 4.5 miles, the girls enjoyed climbing up boulders, finding hideouts, taking care of their flower, playing the "what am I game," walking through creeks, walking across the cascades, eating snacks and posing for pictures and selfies. Abby was a typical 3 year old on their journey, experiencing shoe envy of her sisters and refusing to wear her shoes which resulted in a 20 minute crying fit, but all she did great strapped to my back in the Ergo carrier. She even slept a good hour or so!

After hiking for close to 6 hours we headed home for a late afternoon mini lunch, movies and lots and lots of cuddling!!!!!!!!! And some brats and hot dogs.... we were exhausted!

Here are some pics alongside the trail :)

So excited to see rivers!

Fascinated with the big Boulders!

Selfies on top of the big boulder!
