Mrs Z's class retirement party

The last week of school, we had a "surprise" retirement party for Mrs. Z. Mrs Z knew she was coming to hang out with us after schol for a picnic but "didn't know" that it was really to celebrate her.

The morning of the party the kids delivered a formal invite inviting her to her party! She was brought to tears and couldn't read the invitation without crying. Anna said she cried a lot that day :)

So after school, everyone came to our house to celebrate (it had rained the last 3 days and was still raining so our park idea was knicked). But it worked perfectly!

The adults sat around and talked with Mrs Z while the kids ran around and played. We all ate a nice picnic and spent over 2 hours being together. I have said it a million time, but it is such a wonderful group of kids and parents! And Mrs. Z takes the cake..... what an AWESOME first year she provided Anna!

The kids each filled out a page about things to do when Mrs Z retires and we made a book.

Each kid painted a letter on the You Are Loved sign (one letter for each of the 11 kids) and we gave her that sign to take home.

You can't see it but the green vase (her favorite color) above was engraved with Mrs. Z's famous saying "Kiss your Brain." She cried when she saw it....

We Love you Mrs. Z!!!!
