Roller Skating

The next day with Henry and Frannie we headed to Skate City to rollerskate during their toddler only Pixie Time from 9:30-11 every Wednesday. It was kind of crazy going back to Skate City because I had spent many hours there 3-7th grade at Skate Parties.... oh the memories!

From the get go these two girls were so excited they could hardly contain themselves. I kept reminding them to take it slow, they had never roller skated before and thankfully they did. We rented a skate helper (pretty much a walker on wheels) and they slowly got the hang of rollerskating. I was able to walk alongside them which was great too. It was super cute.

Then 15 minutes into the session the DJ taught a class on beginning skating. They learned how to get up off the ground in their skates, how to go down to one knee if they need to fall, and slowly how to skate without help. The girls did a great job and made great progress. By the end they were going at a great rate with the walkers, turning in circles using the walkers and managing to make at least one lap without any help at a decent beginner speed. For Ashley it felt perfectly natural; Anna thought too hard about it but ended up doing just great as well.

We can't wait to go back again; next time with Daddy :)

Abby had fun watching the color lights, disco ball reflection, dancing to the music while someone held her and crawling around on the bright carpet :)
