Apple Picking

Thinking that we had missed out opportunity to pick apples, I was happy to fall upon a little orchard a little less then an hour south of here near Ottawa, Kansas. It is called Pome on the Range. And it was splendid!

We went this past Friday and so glad we did. The apples were beautiful, crispy and yummy. There were plenty for the girls to pick. And we were pretty much the only ones there. After picking Braeburn, Golden Delcious and another variety I had never heard of, we ventured into their pumpkin patch which was literally across a dirt path from the golden delcious trees. We found some pumpkins (even though we were going to the patch the next day) and then took a tractor ride back for some apple cider slushies and some playground fun. After 3 1/2  hours there (the girls REALLY liked the old fashion playground) we headed home.

It was a great fall Friday afternoon :)
