Saturday San Ignacio Market
We headed to the San Ignacio Saturday Market early Saturday. And it was a sight to see. The diveristy was amazing: Americans, Europeans, Mennonites, Belizeans, Asians and others. I really just wanted to take pictures of the people around us but chickened out.....
We ordered the best quesadilla, tamales and fry jacks. We also had some pretty yummy fruit juices. The girls even found a lady who sells pancakes in the shapes of animals.
After breakfast, we walked around the shops. Poppy bought Anna and Ashley a purse that has Belize written on it and he got Abby a baby doll she named "Bebe." "Bebe" is short for Belize. Then the girls all bought some worry dolls. The worry dolls are dolls you tell your worries to and then put them under your pillow. When you wake up, your worries are gone. They were pretty excited about their purchases.
While in the market we also found a man pushing around an old fashion homemade ice cream maker. We each got some soursop ice cream and it was delish! Also while there, an Asian man came up and asked to get a picture with our girls. Apparently they were amazed by their light hair :)
Such a fun morning being around the locals!
The girls found it funny that the market sold bath and body works!!!!
