Zip liing

Zip lining was something that I had crossed off my list of things to do when planning the trip. Honestly I didn't think they'd let my young children do it. But since it was included in our cave tour package we thought we'd ask about the young ones and.....

.....only in a third world country can a 6, 5 and 2 1/2 year old zip line through a jungle :)

So we all got fitted in our zip lining equipment and not going to lie, I was a bit worried about my kids. But I just tried to stay calm and tell myself it will be ok. I really wanted to do it and they really wanted to do it so I tried to sat all cares and fears behind. And I did a pretty good job of staying calm and of course,  everything went fine :)

Before beginning the course we all had to zip line the 100 foot trial run that ran over a small creek. Anna and Ashley were allowed to do this part ALL by themselves. And they LOVED it!!!! Abby was strapped tandem to a man and she did not care for it one bit; she screamed her lungs out!

After completing the trail course we headed up into the jungle/mountain side. While climbing we came across a family of about 5 howler monkeys. It was pretty cool to see them in their natural environment.

Once we got to the top, Anna was the first to go. She completed the course tandem style with an employee. Then I went, followed by Jim, Mary, Daddy and last came Abby and Ashley. Abby was a screaming and crying mess. With the older two loving it and having no way down but the zip line, Abby had to survive. And she did. They were nice to let her go tandem with Daddy down the last run but even then she hated it. But she took one for the team; and her sisters were VERY glad she did.

This by far tops the list of the activities we did for the girls. They talk about it a lot and can't wait to do it again!!!! I was so excited to see my girls have no fear :) They really did a good job getting out of their comfort zone and trying things on this trip; and everything they did/ate they were glad they tried!
