Door County Wisconsin Day 3 (Monday)
So, it is worth mentioning here that every vacation has it's own highs and lows.... well today we experienced the first low point.... will get to that soon!
We started the morning off great and headed up the peninsula to Newport State Park. Along the way up the peninsula we stopped in various towns. Our first stop was Sister Bay. While Abby slept and Daddy made some work calls, the big girls and I played on a water front playground (the first of many glorious waterfront playgrounds the area has). This was a cute little town; just bummed I didn't try the cheese at the local cheese maker, Door Count Creamery.
Then we headed to Newport State Park. Or as we renamed it Misquito/Biting Fly Park. It was pretty miserable. Somehow we got off our path and couldn't find the path back (even with the map). The trail was all overgrown and I made the mistake of freaking out about potential poison ivy. And that was the end of it..... the girls assumed poison ivy was everywhere and would stop in their tracks. Misquitos would bite Rob and flies would bite me. On a good note, Abby was happy sleeping in the carrier on my back. We finally made it out alive. We had packed a picnic lunch but were so starving and wanting to get out of there we ate in the car :)
On our drive out we decided to go to a look out at Ellison Bay. It was beautiful. It as here that the girls found "coin rock" below the lookout and had to throw a penny over the lookout like everyone else had down. The two girls also feel in love with the huge boulder rocks near the parking lot and put on a number of shows for all to see. The songs they made up were so cute; will have to post one.
No naps were taken that day since we were on the go so it was early night for the girls.
Newport State Park
It started off great....
Hiking Sticks
It was around here that things went downhill; hence no more pictures were taken..... :)

This was right before they made up the song and dance; "Sisters!!!"
