Door County Wisconsin- Day 2 (Sunday)
I slept horrible Saturday night (ok the entire week) because our mattress was not the most comfortable. But Rob and the girls slept well so we were all ready for a day of hiking!
We chose to go to 2 nearby areas: Cave Point and White Dunes State Park. We loved Cave Point and the cliffs we saw that have been beaten down by the lake Michigan waves. The girls loved hiking this area and finding new areas to explore and overlooks to look at. We hiked for maybe 2 hours and then found ourselves at the beaches of White Dunes.
White Dunes Beach was nice but brrrrrr the water was cold. The girls mostly played in the sand which entertained them for quite some time. Anna's version of getting in the water was having Rob carry her into the water up to his knees. She did eventually get in waist high. We had a picnic lunch and then headed home for naps.
Oh yes, forgot about our quick stop at a bakery for a cherry crisp. It was heaven... and worth every bite; especially with french vanilla ice cream on top.
Since the girls took good naps we had an early BBQ dinner outside our cabin and headed across the peninsula to fish creek for an amazing sunset over Green Bay. Besides the slight hiccup of Ashley being nervous to pee in the wood because of poison ivy (she actually thought she got it on her bottom; no worries she didn't), it was beautiful :)
Cave Point
Dancing with Daddy on Cherry Jam's Stage
Once again- that sun was bright :)
Leading the way....
A picture of a picture of poison ivy. The girls were obsessed and basically believed anything that was green was poison ivy..... this really comes into play on our hike the next morning :)
White Dunes State Park
We had to leave our mark in the Visitors Center
Why not write Ashley backwards????
LOVE this
And this....
She covered herself with muck!!!
We finished the other side of Cave Point on our way back to the cabin :)
The crumble from the one and only bakery in Jacksonport
Sunset time!!!
