4th

After the girls paraded around Lenexa, we headed to Grammy and Poppy's with hopes of a boat ride. We boarded the boat, coolers of lunch with us, and unfortunately it wasn't working. BOO. But that didn't stop us from having a 4th of July picnic on a boat; it was just in it's dock slip the entire time :)

With our afternoon plans of boating called short, we headed back to Grammy and Poppy's and the big girl's and I took a nap. Abby did not sleep; she is becoming harder at getting to bed at places that aren't her room. I totally forgot she falls asleep instantly in any dark room..... not to self... rock her to bed on the toilet in the bathroom next time :)

And get this... Rob let us sleep until 5:15. Yes. There goes any hopes of my girls going to bed before 10 pm. So mommy made plans to meet my girlfriend and her family out at the Stillwell Fireworks show after we dropped Daddy and Abby off at home. But before any of those festivities we enjoyed a wonderful 4th of July BBQ put on by Grammy an enjoyed their company.



Here Anna is happy to be on the boat and sad it wasn't working (hence the thumbs up, thumbs down combo). And isn't this the BEST pic!

Anna thought it was hilarious to drink Poppy's root beer in a bottle. She kept saying, "Yummm.... BEER!" and continued asking me when I will finally let her try the real thing..... Good grief!

Anna was reunited with her bow and arrow that she left at Henry and Franny's last Fall.

They both got boo boo's and are pretty good at being dramatic about it :) The icing probably preoccupied 30 minutes of their day.... maybe more :)
