Speech Graduate
Congratulations Anna! After 2 years of once a week speech class she had been officially released off her IEP. She has loved her time spent in speech class and was also excited to go to class but it was time to give our space to a kid who really needs the therapy. Anna's speech skills were evaluated and she is not demonstrating a delay at this time and will therefore be dismissed from speech therapy. We are so proud of her hard work and willingness to work on her speech these last 2 years!
She took a test and the analysis of phonological patterns and scored a 15 (which places her in the mild range of severity and further indicates that most phonological processes have emerged, with current speech sound errors considered developmental at time). In this test she only had the following age appropriate sound errors and her teacher said to continue correcting/sounding everything our with her!
1. "w" for "r" in the word rock; she said wok in conversation
2. "s or f" for "th" in the word mouth
3. "sum" for thumb
2 years ago she got a 105 on the same test which indicated a low-severe articulation delay. She has grown so much!
Way to go Graduate!!!!!!!
