To be quite honest with you, I didn't know what to expect.
She went into the room when Ms Marilyn opened the door, she put her shoe bag in a cubby and then went over to sit in a circle. As other kids got up to say their names and tap, Abby just sat.....
When Ms. Marilyn asked them to find an x, she found an x. And then stood there and watched everyone else tap....
She did tap for the last 3 minutes or so....
Next was ballet and she had no problem taking her tap shoes off, putting them in her bag and getting her ballet shoes on at her mat. We find out soon just how much she loves this mat....
In the small group circle she was doing ballet with her arms and feet, copying Ms. Marilyn.
Then they got in a line to walk around and she decided to sit on the mat instead....
They went to the ballet bar next but she decided to sit on her mat instead....
They did tippy toes across the room but she decided to sit on her mat instead....
And they group danced and you guessed it... she sat on her mat instead :)
After dance she came running to me saying it was so fun! And she was super excited to show me her stamp. Ms. Marilyn came up to me and said today she had two options and she got to choose what to do. We will work on it; she did great! I was just realized that she didn't cry or be a disruption to class at all. Later in the car she said she just wanted to lay down. So I promised her we can lay down both before and after class next week if she dances more!!!
She did enjoy herself and is pretty proud of dancing in dance class!
