Playing with the big girls
Yesterday was not only a gorgeous 60 degree day but it was also early release for the elementary kids in the neighborhood, meaning the kids get home from school at 2 opposed to 3:50. Well with it being so cold we haven't been outside playing with the neighbors much and this past November a new family with 2 girls (7 &8) moved into a house down the cul-de-sac. And yesterday Anna met them for the first time. She is now in girly girl heaven.....
Anna "Mommy I made new friends. They are 7 and 9. Mommy they are big girls"
Me "Are they nice?"
Anna- "Yes, very nice. And they are funny. One likes cool whip in a can mommy and she likes to put it straight in her mouth! Lucy tried it but don't worry I just tried it on a spoon."
Me "What are there names/"
Anna "Hmph. I don't remember. But I got to go in their house and ride bikes with them and play hide and seek. And they gave me gum. A WHOLE stick mommy!"
And then get this. This morning at 6:40 the first thing Anna talks about to Daddy is her new friends. And to me at 7:30 she is wanting to go outside to see if they are outside playing. And about 15 other times today she is peeking outside to check (and don't worry she did spot 1 friend!)
And so it begins. Hanging with neighbor kids and running from house to house. Is she really old enough to be starting this? This momma is not ready for this; luckily I like all the girls and their moms :)
