We had to get away for the weekend; Rob hadn't taken a day off for 7 1/2 months. So what a better way to spend it then a weekend trip to Branson????
I had found a groupon for a 2 night stay at this awesome hotel on Table Rock Lake called The Chateau (or something like that). The girls thought it was a castle and they were so excited to be in the hotel. We left Friday after lunch and drove the 3 1/2 hours to get there and found that in February Branson is pretty dead and shut down. But don't worry, we still found plenty of stuff to keep us busy!
Here's what we did!
*Running around the hotel; filling ice buckets and bags with ice for our milk cooler, reading in the library lounge and under the tinker bell tree, jumped on and played in the huge king sized bed, exploring while Ashley and Daddy took a 2 hour nap and having happy hour juice in the sweet shoppe.
*The girls had a blast climbing in and out of their pack and plays.... they pushed a chair up so that they could do it all by themselves. They even finished their dinner in their pack and play one night.
*Opened and played with all of Ashley's birthday toys.
*Ate at a lot of good places- the hotel grille, a chicken place and a pizza place called Mr G's with horible service but good pizza.
*Took an Old Time Photo for mommy!
*Went to the Disney outlet store to pick out our sovenier
*Tried to swim in the hotel pool but it was a little too cold so we got to go in the hot tub for a little bit (the girls loved it!)
*Watched a movie in our HUGE King bed
*Went to the Butterfly Palace. We walked through this maze of mirrors which was awesome (Daddy kept running into the mirrors which made us laugh), walked through a amazon rope maze and got to walk amongst tons of butterflies. The butterflies LOVED Rob's shirt the most and landed on him the most our of any of us; but we all had at least one butterfly land on us which was pretty neat.
*And everyone was in bed by 8:30 each night :) Let's just say Rob and I were pretty rested!
Much Love,
Jenny
PS We can't wait to go back with the girls when they are elementary aged and when it is a bit warmer!
We even got to finish our chicken dinner in our pack and plays!
Mommy couldn't resist wanting to stop and eat at the huge chicken place..... Daddy happily obliged. It was fantastic! The girls loved running though his legs!
Anna rediscovered her love for cantaloupe and honeydew melon!
The tinker bell tree (pixie hollow) that was in the center of our hotel lobby. We never saw tinker bell.
Movies! Anna had told Grama that we were going to watch 14 movies on vacation..... we watched one :)
The Butterfly Palace
Anna's favorite butterfly was the white and black one.
