Swim Lessons
Last weekend we started swim lessons for the girls. We decided to put them both in the same class; parent/tot 18month- 3 years. With how much Anna has loved swimming in the past I was more worried about how Ashley would do. WRONG, it was the opposite.
Ashley was in her glory world and got so excited when she saw the water. She did everything she was told to and really didn't even mind being dunked under water. The only time she freaked out was when I tried to put her on a kick board and was fine when I just used my chest instead. She also got upset when it was time to get out of the pool. :) Anna on the other hand has completely changed in how much she loves the water. She is more timid and whiny then I have ever seen her be. One second she will gladly do the back float and the next completely flip out in fear that something is going to happen. I am thinking it's just an age thing and about her asserting her independent but WOW, she used to love the water so much (as in she loved it back in April when we would go to the Y pool every weekend). Good thing we have them both in lessons, I hope by the end of the month that Anna is a little less whiny about swimming and that Ashley still loves it as much! I think the trips to the neighborhood pool have been helping a bit... a tiny bit with Anna :) Gotta keep those up too!
Here is a recap of the first lesson:
Lesson one: The main instructor lady tried to fit 1 hr into 30 min (exact quote from Daddy). It was super speed swimming but it was good to get the girls in the water and learn. Anna freaked out during back float which didn't make sense because she does it in the bath and in the pool for us with very minor freakout (if any at all). Ashley did awesome and only cried when put on a kick board.
Wish us luck Saturday morning! No whiny babies please! :)
Much Love,
Jenny
