Anna's in Apprentice Dance Troupe!
We received the call from Ms Marilyn last night inviting Anna to join the apprentice dance troupe. She continued saying she'd be honored to work the next year with Miss Anna for 1 1/2 hours weekly in ballet, jazz and tap if Anna was still interested. I told Ms Marilyn that Anna hasn't stopped dancing since the try out and that I am pretty sure she'd love to. I then told her that I would ask in the morning to double check. Well guess what? In the morning we got a pretty excited "Yes!" from Anna. And then she ran into her room, got her ballet bag and ballet shoes on and danced around the house.
I feel really comfortable in this decision to let her dance as a troupe member. Sure she will be dancing year round, double the amount she's used to but with attending half day kindergarten it is the perfect year to attempt something like this. She will learn all three aspects of dance from an amazing woman (30 minutes a week devoted to each). Ms. Marilyn reinforced that she sees such great potential in Anna as a dancer and feels that she will thrive in troupe. She told us that if Anna ever says that dancing isn't fun or that she doesn't want to go to practice then we need to talk with Ms. Marilyn. She said her goal of troupe isn't to win competitions (which would be nice) but to share her love of dance with young ladies who love to dance. When it becomes not fun it is a problem to Ms. Marilyn as well.
Anna starts in 9 days :) We will see how it goes; which I am pretty confident will go just fine :) Proud of you for having fun doing what you love to do Anna :)
