This past Saturday we met Grammy, Grama, Aunt Anne and Kate for a fun filled afternoon at the Nutcracker Tea Party. It was put on by the Overland Park Parks and Rec and it was awesome! The first hour was a sit down tea party with a light lunch. Throughout this time performers from the nutcracker ballet were walking around and meeting everyone. The girls LOVED this part and were on a mission to meet every one of them. We pretty much met everyone except for the Nutcracker- we were next in line when we left. BOO. But at least they got to see him up close. Their favorites: Anna- Blue Angel holding candle and Ashley- the mice!
It was an awesome way to kick off the holiday season and the girls LOVED it.
A sprinkling of fairy dust from the snowflakes as we walked in.....
Our seats were pretty far back but it didn't matter much; the kids were able to sit in front of the stage :) Ashley did come running and crying back to me in the middle of the performance because she couldn't find her nutcracker. After the play, she found it on the ground in front of her :)
Special drinks in wine glasses :)
A memory keepsake from me to the girls- a nutcracker ornament! Ashley held onto hers the entire time (except for when it was lost during the performance!)
The Snow Queen
The mice
Toy Soldiers and Candy Dolls
Baby Mice
Tea China Dolls
The main Candy Princess and the Angel of light
Lollipop Princess and some other girls :)
