We went and saw Santa a while back; I have just been way behind on the blog. When we saw him Abby went first. She did a great job and mostly just stared at me from his lap. She did give a great smile at us (which the photographer somehow missed) and then really began checking the man out who was holding her. Before she broke down and almost cried, Anna and Ashley rushed in for a group picture.
After the group picture, Ashley remained on Santa's lap. She was pretty timid and just wanted to stare at him. Here was the conversation they had (or should I say Santa had!)
Santa: "What do you want for Christmas?"
Ashley: "Ariel" (really quiet and kind of backing away from him looking like why is this man talking to me?!?!?)
Santa: "Arial, really.... What else?"
Ashley just stares and stares and stares at him.
Santa: "Do you like princesses?"
Ashley stares another blank stare.
Santa: "Yes?"
Ashley shakes head....
Then it was Anna's turn. Boy was this child ready and excited. She marched up to his lap (not making eye contact at all) and here was their conversation....
Santa: "Well hello. How old are you?"
Anna: "Four"
Santa: "You're precious. (Then in a kidding voice and trying to get her to smile for a picture) Where's my big smile at? That looks like a frown! Why do you look so serious? You can smile. Show me that smile. I bet it's beautiful." And then she looks him in the eye and smiles at him and then for the camera. "That's a good smile!!!!! Perfect" And then he hugs her!
Santa: "What do you want for Christmas?
Anna: "Ummmm....... (long pause..... I really think she forgot).... Tiana."
Santa: "Tiana. Is that a princess?"
Anna shakes her head yes really excitedly!
Santa: "OH very good. I have something for you."
Then Anna and Ashley beeline to him for their candy cane which they then manage to make a sticky mess out of all the way home in the car :)
