Abby's Baptism
Last Sunday Abby was baptized. It was a very special day where most of our family was able to be there. It was especially sweet because the Fimmen's were in town and able to be there and Abby had 2 of her great grandparents in attendance.
Abby did great! She was perfect actually, not one peep. She wore the baptismal gown that belongs to my mom's dad (her great grandpa Larry) and is the same one her sisters and I wore when we were baptized. The baptism was performed after the noon mass so it was just our family; which made it niche a relaxed for the kids to be there and able to move around without disrupting any one.
The priest performed the ceremony with us sitting in pews and then we moved to the baptismal fountain for the actual baptism blessing. The entire time Abby sat peacefully in her Godmother's arms (my sister in law Carolyn) and by her Godfather (my brother in law Todd.) When father poured water over her head she was wide eyed and not phased. I think she actually liked it! And almost the entire time we were by the fountain I noticed that Abby was looking towards the ceiling; which was a beautiful painting of the holy ghost.
It was a beautiful day (even though it was raining out the entire day!)
Enjoy the pictures!!!
We were super excited to see everyone at the church
Ashley gave Uncle Tom (her godfather) the longest hug I have ever seen Ashley give anyone. It literally lasted 3 or more minutes.
The kids were so well behaved and had so much fun playing in the pews!
Abby and Aunt Carolyn the godmother
Lucy didn't make a peep!
The kids were so interested in the baptism; they wanted to get as close as possible to the action!
The ceiling that she loved looking at!
Blessed with Oil
What we would look like with 8 children....... what do you say Rob?!?!?
Aunt Anne told Ashley to smile..... instead she put her head in the book when the picture was taken. What a little pill :)
Much Love,
Jenny
PS Thanks to my sister Anne for taking pictures like the paparazzi!
