sewer rats

On accident, Ashley hit Anna's favorite softball down the sewer. Anna started crying (which isn't anything new these days; she has become quick to cry and is super sensitive lately) so we decided the only way to get her back her favorite ball was to go in after it.

So Daddy came to the rescue and pried the gutter top off and down we went....

After the noticed that there were tunnels connecting them to other gutters they were READY to explore. But first they had to get rid of the spiderwebs in the tunnels so Anna came to the rescue....

Anna would lead the way through the tunnels cleaning the spider webs with someone directly behind her with a flashlight. They crawled down two sets of tunnels and would have kept going if it wasn't already past dinner time. These girls loved everything about being a sewer rat and told Rob they can not WAIT to do it again (and go even further!!!)

I really think it tops the list of their favorite thing of the summer!
