First Gleaning

The first week of summer the girls and I ventured out to North KC to help glean spinach, lettuce and kale. The girls were thrilled to be able to use a real knife for the harvesting; Abby spent most of her time in the van. Over all we collected 75 pounds of produce that morning and had a blast doing it together; we were just a little cold :)

Ashley was a gleaning machine and found the largest head of lettuce!

Had fun finding snails...

Then we stopped and bought homemade tortillas and tamales to bring home. YUM!
