Garage and Bake Sale
Last Thursday (the last day of school) and Friday (first day of summer) we decided to participate in the neighborhood garage sale. I don't know why I always choose to do these things during the craziest week of the year (end of school) but we did. The girls were trying to raise enough money to buy a jungle jumparoo for their backyard and the garage sale (and selling excellent condition old toys on facebook) helped them reach that goal. And when it was over, I filled the mini van to capacity and donated the rest.
The weather was gorgeous so we had a lot of fun outside. We stayed open 3 1/2 hours Thursday and most of the day Friday. The girls had a bake sale (that we were up at 6:45 am Friday morning baking for) and their proceeds benefited JDRF. They raised over $130! So proud of them; most of the donations came from strangers too!!!
We do LOVE garage sales; even though the girls definitely like shopping at them better then hosting!
