Dead Bird

The girls found a dead bird in our backyard today and they came running to tell us.

As Daddy was putting the bird in the trash bag we decided that the girls should say a prayer for the bird if they wanted to.

They both wanted to and their prayers went something like this:

Ashley: I hope you fly again everyday.

Anna: I hope God takes care of you this weekend. I hope you get your angel wings in heaven and that you fly. You are loving.

They were a bit freaked out by the dead bird but put to ease knowing that it was getting it's angel wings and joining the other birds in heaven (Anna pointed out that it was probably with the bird that we found on our front step last summer- that child has a memory!!!). Then Ashley got so excited to see living birds around her and life was good again:)
