We just got back from getting our yearly blood work done and it was NO FUN AT ALL! When we got to the lab we were having a blast; running around the hospital, going up and down the elevators and watching TV. But then they called us back to the lab room and then it was horrible!!!
Being the brave big sister Anna went first and the doctors had to try 2 times until they finally found a vein and it was super painful. Sitting in Daddy's lap, she cried and cried. She was very brave and did a super job; blood work is just not fun. But the 4 dinosaur stickers she got at the end did bring out some smiles! She kept saying that she was at the dentist but we kept correcting her saying we were at the lab so that she doesn't think the dentist is this horrible!
Ashley was also brave. She was lucky in that the doctors found the vein right away and her blood was taken really quickly. Sitting on Daddy's lap with paci in mouth, she cried and cried too.
Hopefully we don't have sore arms and that the blood panels come back healthy so we don't have to go through it again. It hasn't even been an hour and we have already taken our band aids off so we aren't reminded by this morning..... We don't know how sick kids do it all the time.
