Omaha
Two weekends ago we took a family long weekend vacation to Omaha. AND. HAD. A. BLAST!
We got in at 7 Thursday night where we stayed at a cheap hotel along the way (and lost Ashley's favorite cupcake blanket- don't worry- they found it and shipped it to us within a week- PHEW!!!). The next morning we opened the zoo up by beating most of the employees there- we were a little over eager (and just wanted to get going) and showed up around 8:30. Talk about rock star parking :) Then we headed into the zoo at 9 for one of the best zoo weather days we have ever had. We stayed until 3 and pretty much did 95% of what there was to see. It was our first time to the Omaha zoo and we were impressed!
After the zoo we had to go to Target to buy myself a bathing suit (I forgot to pack one) and it was kind of a necessity since we were staying at the Coco Key Water park :) Then we checked into the Coco Key Water park, ate dinner and then went and spent 2 hours that night in the park. The girls went CRAZY! Anna was such a dare devil; running around the place like she was on a sugar high. She wanted to go down every slide that she was allowed to do and not just go down once, but then run back and go done again and again and again. Ashley tried the slides in the toddler area and while she liked them twice was enough for her :)
The next morning we headed back to the water park and stayed there 4 1/2 hours until nap. And boy did they nap :) And then after nap we headed back down to the water park for another 3 hours or so. As the day went on Ashley warmed more and more up to the idea of getting her face wet, putting her head under and swimming. Yup- my little girl was swimming 5 feet all by herself by the end of that second day. And boy was she proud of herself. And Anna? She was jumping in, swimming to me, swimming across the pool, swimming on her back and swimming anywhere she could. Rob and I were a bit tense because they were at such ease with the water (which is a good thing) but also scary that they were doing it all on there own with no floats.
The third day at the park we lasted around 2 1/2 hours. Most of the time we were playing "swimming lessons" where daddy and mommy were the coach and Anna and Ashley were the swimmers. They really LOVED this game :)
And Abby grew to LOVE the water. By the last day she would rock and kick and moan to get in the water. She didn't even make a peep when the girls would jump in and splash her entire face with water. She'd just smile :)
Throughout our time at the resort the girls had their first video arcade experience and loved playing all the games. It was really hard for mommy to watch them and not play with (I might be a little too competitive at those places for my kids at the ages they are at :))
After lunch on our last day we went down to meet the Easter bunny at the park. We did have to stalk him a while but finally got a pic with him :)
What a great time!!! When are we going back????
PS If you ever go eat at the Farm House. Ah-mazing breakfast!!!!!!! We ate there twice :)
Much Love,
Jenny
