He knows if you've been bad or good......
While listening to the song Santa Claus is Coming to Town today, towards the end of the song, Anna looks at Ashley and the following conversation happens....
Anna: Uh Oh. I've been bad.
PAUSE
Anna: Yup, sometimes I have been bad
SAD FACE
Ashley: Oh.
PAUSE
Ashley: Yeah. Me too. When I swat.
Anna: Oh no; oh no. (shaking her head)
:)

Wedding Bunny
Anna: "Look Mommy, I made wedding bunny. See I did his ears, long hair and flowers!"
Me: Awesome!
Me: Looking at the entire sheet of paper.... "Wait! Does that say Fragile?"
Anna: Big Smile
Me: "When did you learn to write FRAGILE?"
PAUSE
Me: Flipping over the paper, I start laughing because I see this...
Translation of her writing- "Do not lay on this side."
Me: "Did you copy these words from the box in the foyer?"
Anna: "YUP!!!!"
Total laughter!!

Anna's Thanksgiving Preschool Crafts
On the same day that Ashley went to her Thanksgiving Party, Anna came home from preschool with these. She was pretty stoked as well. I love how she wrote Anna Stilley in the first turkey (the feathers cover up Anna) but you can see Stilley clearly. She told me she asked her teachers for help in spelling Stilley. (I don't think she likes going by Anna St on all her work! too funny!)
Ashley's stick drawings
Here is Ashley's self portrait with her name written. She was pretty proud of having drawn legs and toes! She had already mastered the smiley face :)
Here is Ashley's drawing of Mia (Kate's Puppy Dog). (see the green waggily tail mommy?)

Thanksgiving Party
Last Thursday I had signed up Ashley for a Thanksgiving Party at Blue Valley Rec. Grammy came and took her to the party and they had a blast! She came home with a ton of projects (where she wrote her name on all of them) and had a Thanksgiving cookie at the activity. The lady in charge was so impressed with her feather turkey that she took a picture of it. Ashley had so much fun sharing her creations with us when she got home and loved the time with Grammy.
Can't wait for the Christmas one coming up soon :)

Sophia the First Watch Party
Last night Kate, Aunt Anne, Grama, Papa and the Stilley girls (Daddy stayed at home to do some work) had an incredible Sophia the First watch party. We went
to Nama and Papa's house for dinner and then the fun movie where Ariel appeared in the show! We brought some party drinks (sparkling apple cider) and we had a toast to
the fun night!
It was a great movie and a wonderful night.
Next week we have another watch party lined up...Dock McStuffin's
Christmas movie at Grama and Papa's! We can't wait!
Love,
Anna and Ashley
CHEERS!
Fall Family Photos
I can't believe I forgot to post these....
A couple of weeks ago we went out as a family to Corporate woods to take some family pictures by ourselves with the handy dandy timer. I was not up for the stress of "official" family pictures and thought we'd try this for a change. I think they turned out pretty nice. It helped that halfway through using the timer a man stopped and took my camera and snapped away.
This is my favorite one taken with the timer. For the life of us we couldn't get Abby to look at the camera because she was watching me run back from the camera and then she'd just look and smile at me. This one caught us all laughing at her and telling her to look at the camera; not mommy!
One of me and my 2 big girls!
Yup, Abby thought it was so funny watching me run back and forth!!!
Finally the person who volunteered to take our picture got her looking somewhat at the camera- I think here she was loving the trees!
I was satisfied enough with that one so the big girls got their special drink to share and we went on a nature walk to collect leaves for crafts! Super fun day!

Airplank
"Mommy, tickie me on my airplank."
"What?"
Anna lifts up her arm and shows me her armpit, "MY AIRPLANK!!!"
"You mean armpit?"
And we bust out laughing!
What a nut!

A...S...H...L....E....Y!
Tonight as Rob was getting ready to put Ashley down for night night, she comes into the office to look at what I was doing (which was blogging). Then she asks to see pictures and I show her the most recent ones I uploaded which included this picture of a piece of paper where she had "written" her name at school and brought home for us to see.
I then proceed to ask her what the piece of paper said and she says, "Ashley." I then ask her what the letters were and to point them out to us. OUT OF NOWHERE the child says, "A.S.H.L.E.Y. ASHLEY!" She spells her name!
I literally couldn't believe it and asked her over and over to spell it. Never in a million years would I have expected her to be able to spell her name since she really hasn't been "taught" it. Rob's worked with her a little but still. It's amazing how we teach without even knowing that we are teaching!
So then I asked her to do it for the video camera and she did. Here it is!!!!
http://youtu.be/1gtNIQiSwPs
This child amazes me with what she knows everyday. She learns and likes to be taught so differently then Anna that it shocks me when I see how much she is really taking in. The learning process when they are this young is simply amazing.
Much Love,
Jenny
