Big Girl in Bath

Look at me- sitting up JUST LIKE ANNA! I just started doing this this week and as long as I am on the mat I don't slide. Bath time is going to keep getting more fun :)

What a big girl I am :) I even let mommy wash my hair while laying on my back and doing the back float!

Lip Singer

I love to sing... lip sing that is!

I lip sing to all my favorite songs; Baby, Dancing Queen,. The Twist, Barney, Mickey Mouse, and so many more!

I even lip sing to songs I don't know. Sometimes it even looks like I am singing the words!

I am becoming quite the performer and thanks to mommy's cousin Christopher, I like to sing using a spoon as a microphone!

Baby Food

I LOVE FOOD!!!! Here are all the food mommy has made me to try. And guess what, I like them all!!!

Rice Cereal - liked
Oatmeal- liked
Avocados- liked
Green Beans- first bite mommy and daddy thought I looked surprised that it wasn't avocado but really liked them
Sweet Potato- liked
Banana- liked
Peaches- liked but mommy and daddy thinks I got a tummy ache from eating too many of them. Mommy was super excited to have me try these because Anna never tried them at such a young age and maybe fed me too much. the night following peaches I slept HORRIBLE! We will postpone eating more of those for a month or so!

What's coming up next on the menu?????
Squash- both spaghetti and acorn
Tofu- yup, just like Anna
Fruit!!!! Mommy has already made and frozen purees of pears, peaches, black plums, green grapes, blackberries, blueberries and nectarines to be tried in the very near future!

Mommy is trying to buy as much good looking seasonal fruit, puree and freeze, for when it's hard to find. She remembers with Anna having a hard time finding good fruit (especially peaches) in the wintertime and had to actually prepared puree with dried fruit. It might be time for mommy and daddy to invest in an extra freezer- hahaha- just kidding!

Catch

I can catch a ball! Yup- pick up and medium sized ball and toss it to me.... I will catch it! I love playing catch with mommy and daddy. YEA!!!!

Papa's Brothers and a Party

This past weekend all pf Papa's brothers were in town from Minnesota, Colorado and New York City. Gigi was already here in Kansas City and they decided to have a retirement party for my Uncle Bob. It was so much fun meeting everyone- Anna gave everyone hugs and kisses every night she saw them. The night of the party was super special because we got to have a sleep over and Anna stayed up an hour past her bedtime- super super special treat! We met mommy's cousins Sarah, Johnathan and Christopher. Sarah read lots of books to us and played with us and cousin Christopher taught me how to use a spoon as a microphone- he's so funny! We had such a great time! Cheers!

Deanna Rose with the Perrigo's

Tonight we met the Perrigo's at Deanna Rose for fun at the farm and a nice picnic dinner. Anna had a blast with their two girls and their oldest, Mariah. LOVED every inch of Anna! It was so cute watching them hold hands- Anna was truly in awe of the "big" kid! Ashley had fun with baby Caleb (5 months old) while the girls played on the playground. It was a gorgeous night in the shade! We saw lots of animals, had a lemonade, rode tractors, ate a picnic dinner and best of all (to Anna at least) we played on the playground. What a blast! More cowbell!!!!!

C'mon P

The last month I have taken on the responsibility or letting Peanut outside to go potty and back inside. Mommy or Daddy opens the house door and Peanut and I hurry out to the screened door. I open it for him and then stand there waiting and cheering him on; saying "Pee P? Poop P?" After he is done going potty I get really excited and start yelling "C'mon P" while hitting my thigh (just like mommy does). When he comes inside I get to give him as treat. I always try to give him the "Baby-O" circle treats!

Holding BaBa

Mommy FINALLY got a picture of me holding my baba. I don't have baba's often (really only when mommy is out of town or out running errands) but when I do I can do it all by myself (for over a month now).

Tree Hugger and Kisser

I have become a HUGE fan of walking to the playground on our street and also to the park up the road. I would much rather walk then ride in the stroller and sometimes this means it takes up 30 minutes to get to the swings but I don't mind one bit! I run in the grass, try to roll down hills, find letters on signs, watch cars and even stop to pick grass. I sometimes even run up and hug and kiss trees....

Last night on my walk home from the park up the street I ran up to EVERY tree I saw and gave each a HUGE hug and kiss! Mommy and Daddy couldn't stop laughing and think I easily did this to 20 trees- even the big HUGE ones that I couldn't get my arms around!! Mommy says she is bringing the video camera next time because it's so cute!

I am quite the "tree hugger!"

23 months

* Most of the month was focused on potty training (read below for more detail!)
* I know 15 letters and LOVE to point them out whenever I see them: ABCDHKLMNOPSTXY
* I am still obsessed with the Justin Bieber song, Baby and with Barney. Anything in the shape of a heat, circle or the letter B and O I call "Baby O" and start singing "Baby o baby o baby o."
* I still LOVE to dance and have some pretty crazy funny moves!
* Ask me how old I am going to be- I say "DWO!"
* I am talking in a lot of 2-3 word sentences which mommy and daddy understand most of the time. I am attempting to say a lot more words when mommy or daddy ask me to say something and I say them pretty well (I am pretty Dutchy like mommy was!) I am really becoming a chatterbox in places and with people that I feel comfortable with.
* I can get shy around people that I don't know that well. I pull my chin to my chest and stare down at the ground.
* I always have bruises or gashes on me because I am an active little climber who really has no fear. Kisses from mommy or daddy usually make them feel better.
* I am sleeping the same as I have been; both at night and during the day.
* I am using the words "I" and "me" tons while talking about me; I used to always say "A"
* I love arts and crafts- crayons, markers, finger paint, water colors, paint and play-do.
* Loves planes- both in the sky and running around the room flying like one.
* Favorite Books- Tickie Monster and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Really loves ALL books. Very into giving one to mommy or daddy to read by themself while sitting next to me reading my own book.
* I am a mimic- just call me mini mommy with all that I do. I am also starting to mimic Peanut and want mommy to throw a ball for me to fetch, do tricks with me and feed me tricks. I also mimic baby Ashley in that I pretend to cry and want mommy to hold me and pat me like a baby while hushing!
* I am becoming super independent and get mad when people do things that I can and like to do- which is pretty much everything.... climbing into the car seat and booster, snapping the snaps on the car seat and booster, turning lights on, opening doors, EVERYTHING involved in going potty, putting on shoes, taking off diaper, picking out clothes, going up and down stairs, letting Peanut in and out to go potty, giving Peanut treats, doing laundry, helping with dinner/dishes, brushing teeth... the list goes on and on and on.

*I classify sizes according to the people in myfamily.

Huge size: I call Daddy

Big size: I call Mommy

Medium size: I call Anna

Small size: I call Baby

Mommy thinks it is especially funny when I do it for my poop once it gets in the potty :) We have daddy ones, mommy ones, anna ones, baby ones and sometimes a couple of each!

I am growing up to be such a big girl! Only one more month of being 1!

POTTY UPDATE
I am pretty much potty trained except for during my naps and overnight (still wearing diapers). I have woken a couple of times from my nap with an absolute dry diaper and that makes mommy VERY proud of me! I have been wearing big girl panties (not pull ups) on quick car trips. I am still doing VERY good with pooping on the potty. I can usually get through the day accident free but if I am in a place where I am super excited (like playing with Kate at Grandmas or playing outside) I sometimes don't listen to my body and have accidents. Just recently I have started to climb on the potty by myself; pulling up a step stool to the potty, opening the lid, placing the training potty seat on the seat and them climbing up on the potty backwards to go ALL BY MYSELF. I even wipe (not poopies though). I do have lots of fun with the toilet paper though and mommy has started to stand guard and protect the toilet paper- BOOO! I am also starting to get to the potty with enough time to sit for a minute before peeing or pooping. I am still working on pulling up and down my pants all by myself but am getting better each day. All in all, pretty impressive if you ask us!
