Serious neck strength!

Mommy says I am super strong! I can do tummy time for almost 20 minutes at a time and I move my head up and down and side to side a lot! Anna is even doing it with me now!

Head Locks of Love

So, mommy thinks I am a little too rough with brother....

But I think it is SO funny when he growls and when he chases me. I also LOVE giving him hugs, putting him in headlocks, rolling by/on him, pulling on his legs and hair and laying on top of him. I just don't understand why he doesn't LOVE it too!

Mommy says I have to start playing nicer with brother. Peanut never leaves when I am playing with him- he just gets a little feisty with me and it makes mom nervous so she separates us. Tough Love...

Seal Monkey

She is loud. VERY loud.

Ashley likes to make seal like noises when she sleeps- I think it is her vocal attempts to break through her swaddle. It might even be hereditary- I kind of grunt when I am doing something physically draining..... I wonder if I was swaddled if I would sound like a seal! Anyways, when she is snug as a bug, she sleeps pretty quietly, but give her any space in that swaddle and she's howling like a seal most of the time. Sometimes so loud that it startles me to the point of jumping up in bed.

But besides her seal like squeals, she is sleeping great- she gave us 6 hours straight last night (knock on wood that it continues). So in the meantime, I think I'll stick with a daughter who might be a seal over a daughter that isn't sleeping anyday!

Oh and she LOVES her bed and the low "roar" (as daddy calls it) of the noise machine and humidifier!

First "Baba"

Tonight I had my first bottle with daddy! I did pretty well being that it was my first time drinking without mommy :)

Once finished I was exhausted and ready for bed! I can't wait to have another "baba" with daddy!

Somersault!

Tonight when we were in my room getting ready for bed you won't believe what I did ALL BY MYSELF! A somersault! A REAL (what daddy's calls perfect) somersault!

I was doing my normal put my head on the floor and pretend to somersault when suddenly my body rolled completely over my head without anyone's help! It was so awesome!!! Mommy missed it because she was getting my crib ready but daddy saw every minute of it. They were both super excited and proud of me!

Mommy got me to try and do it again before going to bed and I did it, but it was more of a side somersault. Mommy is now really considering signing me up for gymnastics- Woooo-hooo!

17 months old

 

Here's what I've been up to the past month!

*I became a BIG sister!

*I can snap the buckle on my booster seat and do it EVERY TIME I get out of it after eating!

*I like to hold mommy's camera up to my face and say "heeese!"

*I had a very bad cold- two actually- and spent most of my last month with a runny nose.

*I can reach the light switch on the stairs and I love to turn the light on and off.

*I try to blow bubbles in the bathtub and sometimes choke on the water by breathing in accidentally. I love water!

*When I laugh I cover my mouth and sometimes lean over to giggle!

*When I want you to walk with me, I grab your hand and say "waa." I also say "waa" for water (and I say "ahhhhh" when I want a drink).

*When I say "uh oh" or am looking for something I can't find, I shrug my shoulders. Mommy LOVES this!

*I have started to pretend to be a doggy. I like to crawl around the kitchen and pant like a dog. I even try to eat Peanut's food but I get in BIG time trouble when I do that!

*I love grapefruit and when I eat it with mommy I tell her to "eeeze" it so I can drink the juice. When she squeezes the juice out, I pretend to squeeze my hands too!

*I have started to cluck my tongue.

*I am have added "all done" to my collection of signs.

*I love drinking out of mommy's hospital mug. I drink LOTS of water this way.

*I like to help mommy in the kitchen and when she asks if I want to help, I push a kitchen chair up to the counters and say "yeah."

*I LOVE to try to put diapers on my big teddy bear. I am pretty good at wiping his bottom with wipes too. 

*The foods I LOVE are: turkey lunch meat, white cheddar mac and cheese, hot dogs, tofu, beans- black and chili ones, avocado, hummus, red pepper, cheese- ANY cheese, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, apples, bananas, GOLDFISH, dipping cinnamon toast crunch in milk, Whole milk (I still drink 3 whole sippy cups a day!) and Reese peanut butter cups. YUMMM!

*Lambie and bunny are still my besties.... BIG Teddy Bear is getting up there too!

*I LOVE watching Barney! I try to get mommy to let me watch it at least once a day!

*My favorite toys/things to play with and do are:  Baby Dolls, Music and Dancing, Mega Blocks, Balls, Walking Outside, Coloring, Rough housing in my tent, Books, Cooking in my Kitchen and washing my hands!

*I am still sleeping great! Around 11-12 hours at night and about an hour and a half to 2 hour nap midday. Mommy know that when I wake up talking to my animals or singing that I will be in a good mood. If I wake up crying....  that's another story!

As Snug As A BUG!

I LOVE being swaddled! Swaddled when I sleep, swaddled when I chill and swaddled while people hold me! I am super strong and have been breaking through mommy and daddy's swaddles to get my fingers to my mouth because I LOVE my fingers!! Looks like 2 people are out of practice- or that I'm just that much stronger then my sister was at my age! Whatever the case I am sure they will figure it out :)

Look what I can do!

A couple of days ago I put one leg in my pants ALL BY MYSELF and guess what I did yesterday?!?!?! I put two legs in my pants all by myself. Now the tag was on backwards and I think the pants were inside out and just sitting around my ankles, but I DID IT! Mommy was so proud and so was I! Such a big girl!

My Baby's Bath

Yesterday mommy let me give my baby doll a bath with BUBBLES! We had so much fun! We put a tub of tub of water with duckies AND the baby on the playroom table and I was allowed to take charge!! I washed the baby with the bubbles and a washcloth... and really didn't get that wet (Amazing mommy said!) I was having so much fun that tons of time went buy while I was playing (mommy says 30 minutes). I wonder if I can give baby another bath today!

Cousin Kate's 3rd Birthday Party

Last night we went to Kate's 3rd birthday party and it was one word....... PRINCESS!!! We had so much fun! Ashley slept most of the time but woke up to have some fun with Grandpa and Grandma holding her.

Anna loved playing in the tent (I was going CRAZY!!!), loved dressing up as Cinderella, loved eating all the goodies and drinking out of everyone's cool water bottles, loved playing princess bowling and the little bounce house, enjoyed helping her cousin open some gifts and playing with/on some of them, thought it was hilarious to walk around the house with gift bags in her head and LOVED just being with her big cousin. What a pretty pretty princess party it was!

Playground!

This past weekend we went to the playground for the first time! It was super nice- around 60-70 degrees! Grammy and Poppy joined us and we had SO much fun! Ashley was happily swaddled and held by Grammy and Poppy the entire time so she was VERY happy! Anna had a blast swinging on daddy's lap, swinging a little bit in the big girl swing alone, climbing up the stairs, crawling through the tunnel, going across the shaky bridge with daddy, watching daddy swing like a monkey, run around the playground like a crazy girl, sliding down the slides alone and sliding down the HUGE tall slide with Poppy.... they went so fast that both were surprised at the speed!

On the walk home, Anna was excited to see her favorite driveway on our block that she took off running up the driveway, turned around and at full speed ran down the driveway laughing. Mommy nearly fainted from a panic attack, and we all laughed at the little daredevil that is brewing inside that little body.

It was so much fun!
