It's MY birthday!
Everyone who knows me knows just how much I LOVE my birthday. How this day, December 30th, has the capability to drag on for days, even weeks......
This birthday is hitting me pretty hard because, as many people have pointed out, it is my last year in my twenties..... and I LOVED my twenties. The dreaded 30th birthday is 365 days away.... Colleen that makes it 1096 days for you (I think there is a leap day in there)!!! So this year, I have every intention of dragging it out!
My cousin Colleen and I savor every minute of this sweet day (for those of you who don't know, we were born on the same day two years apart) and have both made it into a birth-week instead of a birthday!
We start with our Birthday EVE celebration. This year mine was the traditional family happy hour on the plaza. 8 years and running, we have made a birthday tradition of picking a restaurant on the Plaza and attending happy hour. Since this year we had 2 toddlers and a baby, we decided to go back to Brio (we had celebrated there last year) because of their cozy couches and roomy upstairs.... oh and their GREAT happy hour menu! One martini down and I was feeling it.... water please!
Anna gave me the greatest birthday gift so far- a great 3 hours at BRIO out of the house (she even fell asleep on my knee even with all the noise around her.) I was so happy because so many of Rob and my family members were able to attend; My mom and dad, Anne, Todd, Kate, Mary, Aaron, Laura (she even made it there exhausted after working 105 hours in 7 days!!!!), Henry, Jeff, Megan and Christopher. Thank you EVERYONE for celebrating with me :) And for those who stayed the whole time who's the queen of bananarama?????? Winning 4 out of 6 games isn't bad, ey? Thanks Laura- that is now my new favorite game! To end my Birthday Eve, Rob, Anna and I came home and had a mini photo shoot of Anna with my new camera accessory flash speedlight that I got for Christmas and played Yahtzee. I got a Yahtzee in the last game (I finally beat Rob!!!) What a great Birthday Eve!
As for the rest of my celebration??? Tomorrow (the real deal) I am taking Peanut to get his nails clipped, running much needed errands, maybe eating out at Chipolte, going to see Avatar with Rob, and eating a surprise soup that Rob is making me! I can't wait! Then on New Years Eve, Kelly, Stephanie and I are getting together for a birthday lunch; followed by New Years Eve (or a big party for my birth) at my sisters. I also have a dinner planned sometime the next week with others as well. Oh how fun! My VERY SPECIAL day!
Much Love and thanks for the birthday wishes,
Jenny
